What you'll do
When you arrive at the workshop you will find your unique piece of Prince Edward Island (seaglass) in our treasure chest. Then I'll give you history about where sea glass comes from, what types of sea glass come from what bottles, just a little history. After the history lesson I have a display of items I love to show off and explain where they I found them. Finds such as sharks teeth, bottle stoppers, marbles and even a pirates old clay pipe. I hand out each person the tools and wire they need to make their pendant. Then step by step I instruct you in making your very own souvenir of Prince Edward Island. We charge per person (adult or child) for the workshop and we offer chains for a fee in the gift shop. If you don't leave wearing your one of a kind sea glass jewelry we wrap your piece in tissue and put it into a bag for safe travels.
The Island is unique to the amount of shipwrecks that have happened off coast. These shipwrecks have been decaying over the years and we have been finding glass from years ago come ashore. We explored the beaches, beach-combed for sea glass and brought it back into a treasure chest for you to choose your very own unique piece of PEI. Once you have chosen your seaglass I will instruct you every step of the way in designing your very own pendant to be put on a key-chain or necklace. I (cindy) teach most of the classes, however my husband (guy) also teaches our French speaking guests and he takes over for me on occasion. We offer the workshops during our gift shop business hours starting at 10 am. Workshops are run on the hour with the last class at 3pm. All wire, sea glass and tools supplied, $18 per person, fun for all ages 6 to 106.
I supply round nose pliers, a set of cutting pliers, the sea glass and wire to wrap your pendant.

Where you'll be
The Island is one large beach that you can walk for miles in either direction, however there are better areas to beach-comb than others. Like Cavendish Beach, I've found sea glass on the beach, however its crowded during tourist season and I'm likely not to find much. One of my favourite places to beach-comb is Souris beach, however it is difficult to be the first one on the beach. If you find your own sea glass you can bring it to wrap.
