What you'll do

During this walk I take tourists to the district of Kazimierz - currently becoming the artistic district of Cracow filled with designer café’s, bars, art and craft galleries. This trendy location is surrounded by buildings that witnessed shocking Holocaust history. It is also the place where before World War II, Jewish culture flourished for centuries and it was a film set for Steven Spielbergs Oscar winner. Then, we continue to the district of Podgórze to the surviving remnants of the second World War Ghetto. I tell stories and legends familiarise my customers with local customs and traditions. Through the tours I am keeping my tourist involved in the discussion about features of local architecture, exchange opinions on European history, though I'm not overloading anyone with too much historical data in order to keep pleasant holiday feeling.
Other things to note
If you would like to make sure that the tour is English only (because Russian language is an additional option) book the private tour. In case you see some people have booked already for given date, you can always confirm with me which is their language preference before placing your reservation.

I’ve been working with several tour companies from Cracow as English or Russian speaking tour guide for long time. I keep on delivering various strolls and bike tours around Old Town of Cracow or Jewish district and former Jewish Ghetto area. I have a very good set of contacts in the local cafeterias in order to provide customers with some quality break time during the tour. What’s very important is my background - I was born and raised in Cracow; therefore, my range of knowledge about this town is vast. I can show you the city from a perspective of a local person, who not only is well aware of the local history, folclore and legends, but also is up to date with ongoing events in the city.

Where you'll be

We will meet nearby St. Adelbert Church on Main Market Square. I will brief you there on the history of Cracow. We will go near St. Mary's Basilica to the Lesser Market and to Planty Park, where is the map. There I explain how cities of Cracow and Kazimierz were arranged in medieval times, from there we will go through Starowiślna Street to Kazimierz. There we will see Szeroka St. and various synagogues, later we will go to the Ghetto area.

Brilliant tour by a passionated man with intense sense of detailed history. We got a very informative explanation of the Jewish history and all of the momentum and factors that shaped the history, with an objective point of view. We walked around for over 4 hours and time just flew by! This tour is a must during your stay.

Wladyslaw is a very knowledgeable guide and knows a lot about Krakow, history in general and culture. We spent 4 1/2 hours on his tour during an incredible heat but he handled it really well, made us feel welcome by also having integrated us in presentation and not once we felt bored. Total recommendation!

Wladyslaw is awesome, he gave us an incredible tour through Krakow, showed us beautiful historic landmarks with exquisite interpretation of history context, entertained us with local urban legends. And gave us some ruthless hard to swallow facts about the WWII. Showed us charming places and introduced us the most delicious lemonade and cheesecake. Wladyslaw is witty, energetic, enthusiastic and funny, his vibe gave our tour a whole new level. I highly recommend to watch Schindlers list movie to emphasize the tour.
