What you'll do
Join us on our traditional Scottish farm to get a glimpse into crofting life. Rather than just a petting zoo, we are an actual working croft where we aim to give you a real feel of the crofting life, which is unique to the Scottish Highlands. Plan in 2 hours for a guided walk around the animals. While enjoying the stunning views and scenery, learn about crofting and local history, from the Neolithic to the Clearances. There will be plenty of photo opportunities with our 4-legged friends and stunning surroundings. In June/July the sheep will be shorn, so if you would like to try your hand at this traditional crofting chore, Tom, who is a professional shearer, will give you an introduction. The ponies will love being brushed and fussed over. We will visit our herd of native cows before feeding and stroking the pigs and the chickens, where you can collect your own eggs if you're lucky, and - depending on whether there are any - the pet lambs will need their bottle, too. We finish our tour with a working sheep dog demonstration to show you Tib in action with our sheep. Feel free to fire away with any questions you have regarding the animals or crofting during our walk or over our cuppa and fresh homebaked scones and shortbread afterwards. * Please get in touch reg. discounts for children aged 3-12 * If you fancy staying on the Croft: We also have AirB'n'B accommodation available

My husband Tom and I have worked our croft (traditional Scottish farm) in the Scottish Highlands since 2014. Here we breed and raise sheep, cows and keep chickens, mainly native and rare breeds. There are also ponies, pigs, a cat and dogs. Tom is a professional sheep shearer and we have travelled the world shearing sheep together before starting our own farming enterprise. We love people experiencing this beautiful place and our friendly animals, as we believe that access to nature and animals is crucial for mental and general wellbeing - for children and adults alike. Tom and I are passionate about small-scale, ethical food production and animal husbandry and enjoy sharing our knowledge, experience and surroundings with everybody who loves to experience farmlife or even those keen to start their own smallholding
After our tour, we can enjoy some homebaked scones and shortbread in the house when we reflect and have a chat about anything…
We'll also have a cup of hot tea, coffee, herbal tea or simply water with our scones.

Where you'll be
The croft is off the beaten track, yet within easy reach. Our tour will take place on the farm and all the animals on the croft will be covered. We finish with the chickens, where you can collect your own eggs - depending on availability - before we enjoy a well deserved cuppa and homemade fresh scones and shortbread together in the house. If you would like to stay with us, please message me for the link to our AirB'n'B accommodation.
