What you'll do

We will spend 2 hours walking the trails of Heriter Farms beautiful acreage. Learn to identify, collect and discuss processing of Mushrooms, Mustard, nettle, Ramps, Spruce tips (amongst other notables). Back at the Farmhouse participants will learn how to process all the finds then enjoy a 4 course meal prepared by Chef Ruthie and Heriter Farms owner Valencia. This is an intense field practicum with a 4 course meal around a beautiful hand built stone outdoor fire BBQ. Organic raised ingredients. Participants of this Workshop and Meal will be required to dress appropriate for all weather including tick spray. We will eat all that we find in a beautiful setting over looking the sun set and a working farm of Highland cows. This farm is certified ECO-Cert. I am a Mushroom & Wild edibles expert. I am currently a guest lecturer for the local Horticultural Society, CRCA, and will be a guest lecturer at Queens University. I am also a chef of 25 years and a former restaurant owner. I have mushroom picked on 3 continents with over 40 years experience. I have been cooking with indigenous foods for over 15 years. A 4 course wild crafted meal done over an open fire. Will include all Wild edibles found during edibles foraging walk. Chef…

All of your beverages will be supplied along with a wine pairing for each course for those who choose a little more

We will supply all foraging collection baskets and tools for each participant

Where you'll be

The walking workshop will be on 100 acres of mixed woods. The meal will be located at the Farmhouse overlooking stunning fields around a hand built stone fire BBQ.
