What you'll do
Baskets are synonymous with nature, harvesting, all earthy sensibilities. So why not create a basket in a peaceful park. Come and spend some time with me and learn the tools and techniques used to create such an elegant craft - a pine needle coiled basket - while sipping on bubbly water and munching on California grown snacks. You'll leave with the little basket that YOU made, all of the supplies that you used, and the knowledge you gained to create grand baskets at home on your own. Plus, before you leave the park, you can forage for pine needles in this pine tree filled park.
I am owner, designer, and maker at my basket company, LKLYDesigns. I have clients, such as Farm Fresh To You and Hauser & Wirth, whom I supply regularly. I've been teaching art and craft for over 25 years, focusing on basketry for the past 10. When I'm not teaching or making baskets, I enjoy nature walks and hikes - foraging and collecting sculptural elements to incorporate into my baskets.

Where you'll be
I love the peacefulness that parks offer. We'll meet at Torrance Park, where I go for walks, enjoy the outdoors, and forage for basket-making supplies. Here you can find pine needles in abundance. To find me, look for the baskets and Mexican blanket.
