What you'll do
Morrison Canyon/Vargas Plateau is a beautiful and somewhat undiscovered hike (new to East Bay Regional Parks). There is beautiful scenery of the Bay Area, Mission Peak and Niles Canyon if you want to extend the hike a couple miles more. The hike is moderate in difficulty. It’s best for us to have a conversation to make sure the hike is suited to you. Let’s talk soon! This is a great hike for the photographer that wants to catch beautiful landscape scenery and if lucky some interesting wildlife too. Wildlife in this area includes : Mountain Lions (rarely if ever seen and there has never been an attack in this area EVER), deer (bucks, fawns too), wild turkeys, coyotes, the gray fox, the red legged frog (endangered), the California whip snake (also endangered), the California Tiger Salamander (endangered - I've never seen one), the Northwest Rattlesnake (seen occasionally - usually afternoons/early evenings), various raptors (Golden Eagle - seen commonly, Cooper's hawks, northern harrier), the great-horned owl, the tiny pigmy owl, the gray fox, bobcats etc). I have seen the following animals during my hikes : all the raptors, the gray fox, coyotes, various deer and bucks, golden eagles, the red legged frog, bobcats, a mountain lion (once - I got lucky), wild turkeys..

Hi! My name is Paul. I love the great outdoors and sharing them with AirBNB guests and friends. I am an avid hiker, world traveler, speak fluent Vietnamese and can show AirBNB guests/clients hiking here in the Bay Area. I a bit of a wanderer myself and have some pretty interesting REAL stories to tell about my travels. Traveling is great isn't it?
