I am a civil rights attorney, former federal lobbyist, writer and storyteller. Though a native New Yorker, I revel in the beauty and foment of the SF Bay. Berkeley, particularly, has amazing stories to tell and secrets to reveal. Join me to explore its history of poetry, story, politics and drama.

What we’ll do

Walk the vibrant streets of Berkeley, home to the renown university, political foment, artistic zeal and more than a dozen independent bookstores. We will visit famous shops and talk to a bookseller and/or author in this intellectual whirlwind. We will visit famous libraries, discuss local greats, such as Samuel Clemons (Mark Twain!), Jack London, Allen Ginsburg, Ursula LeGuin, Philip K. Dick,…

Wear walking shoes and bring a jacket. Open-mics attendance optional. Be prepared to purchase your own meal. Politics may be discussed civilly. The guest agrees to join tour at his or her own risk.

Where you'll be

We will meet on the campus of UC Berkeley a the main library. From there, we will stroll to spots of import to the Berkeley Literary scene and stop in to at least one talk by a local author, bookseller or other special hosts.
