What you'll do
We will meet at the Tangled Garden, https://tangledgarden.ca, In Grand Pre. We will look at the fundamentals of Shibori manual resist dyeing and practice folds on natural fibre samples and dye these using natural plant dyes. Using what you have learned, you will create your own one of a kind pattern on a silk scarf
Hi, my name is Eleonora. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree, an Education degree and am a retired teacher with 32 years of experience working with students and parents both in the public system and Waldorf school. My primary focus was in music education and I continued by studies with textile arts. Having recently moved to the beautiful Annapolis Valley here in Nova Scotia, I decided that my teaching days were not quite over. I love to share my passion of working with natural fibres, especially painting and dyeing and ecoprinting on silk and also working with Japanese hand made paper and bookbinding. I believe that we are all artists, able to learn and create great beauty. Sometimes, we simply need a little guidance to reveal what is within each of us.

Where you'll be
"Wander through classic garden rooms hedged in box, yew and beech. Explore a dry stream bed flanked by statuesque grasses and perennials. Walk the flowering labyrinth then pause on a bench with sweeping views of the Bay of Fundy. Tangled Garden has a classical seven-circuit labyrinth with paths of clover and walls of flowers, approximately 80 feet in diameter."
