What you'll do
We'll explore Spring Mountain natural water features and canyons in short hikes of less than two miles round trip. Along the way we may see wild life such as deer, bighorn sheep, jack rabbits, and chip monks. During the hot summer we will visit destinations above 7000 feet, where temperatures are typically 20+ F degrees cooler than Las Vegas. During the winter roads may be closed above 7000 feet because of snow, so we will explore mid elevations along the Red Rock Canyon 13 mile loop. Cold drinks will be provided.
I have been enjoying the Las Vegas high country for 15 years. I know most of the easy to moderate trail heads from roadside in the Spring Mountain National Recreation Area, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, and the Valley of Fire State Park surrounding Las Vegas. I know where to find places where even long time Las Vegas locals don't know about.
Water or soft drink.
Can seat 11 passengers.
Folding Chairs. Some destinations will have picnic tables.
