“The stay in Cascor's place was great! The house is located in Santa Ana, kind of a resort town close to Colonia. It has amazing houses, trees and a nice beach to watch the sunset at, as the color of the river looks silver (as its name, Rio de la Plata). The house has two great highlights: the outdoor space and the indoor fireplace area. The house is surrounded by trees and you have complete privacy and tranquility (it's much bigger than what you see in the pics), you can lay on the hammock or dine outdoors hearing the birds singing. The indoor fireplace is big and there is a nice lights system, where you can control the strength of each light. And of course Ernesto, who is an amazingly friendly dog, will stay in your garden and walk around with you wherever you go in Santa Ana. Great place to unwind and rest, especially if you like the outdoors!”

“Andrea and Edson live next door and were available if we needed anything. They were so sweet and brought us local honey and some of their asado on Sunday! The house is a tiny house but efficiently laid out, so we were able to still cook everything at home. There are a lot of mosquitos in the area, so we spent most of our day time indoors, and then would get a fire going at dusk out front which would make the mosquitos leave us alone :) This is a unique microclimate in Uruguay, with a lot of humidity and trees.”

“This little cottage is a great getaway. Dean was extremely friendly and helpful. The cottage and yard are beautiful, and the kitchen has all the necessary items for making a meal at home. And there were lots of extra touches that made it clear that Dean and Cecilia were thoughtful hosts. We didn’t have a car while at this cottage, and the town of Riachuelo is very small, but Dean was very helpful. He gave us a ride in to Colonia and helped us figure out the bus schedule and taxis. If we’d had more time there, we would have loved to explore the area around Riachuelo. It’s a beautiful area. We definitely recommend this cottage, especially for anyone looking for a very quiet retreat.”
