“It’s a beautiful little farm house not far off of the beaten path so the convenience is awesome. And Nobel is a great guy and host. I bet the man has some stories among stories about life that ya wouldn’t believe. My time there was short due to work scheduling but I highly recommend nobels place as a peaceful getaway. And don’t forget to try his homemade whipped cream to go w/ ur coffee”
Nestled on 193-acre Stonewall Farm, backed by woods and boasting carved walking trails, the Wine House offers a chance to spend the weekend cozying around a fire (inside or out), enjoying the privet maze modeled after Hampton Court, or spending time with the many animals who call the farm home. Bring your pole to fish of the pond’s dock or take the canoe out for a float. Access to the Rail Trail is moments away and on-premises mountain bikes mean you can ride along Decker’s Creek to Morgantown.
“We had to cancel a trip to Europe but still had the time off from work. We stayed at Bill's place for a week and it was the perfect social distancing vacation. We found quite a bit to do, including a visit to the WV Botanic Garden in Morgantown and the Arthurdale New Deal Homestead Museum one town over which recently reopened. We brought most of our food and cooked and also enjoyed a few meals on restaurant patios in Morgantown. We had a fire pit two nights. We took advantage of the rail/bike trail bike network and biked every other day. It will be hard to find more hospitality. Bill dropped off homemade desserts every couple of days and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. The house is larger than it looked in photos. The hedge maze is super fun. It's a magical spot.”
Copper House is a light, airy, tree-shaded lakefront home. Situated in a private community on a 20 acre lake, this home is a short 15 minute drive to downtown Morgantown and 10 minutes to the I-79 / US-68 interchange. A large 12'x35' deck overlooks the lake in the rear. Ideal area for relaxing or grilling. The house has been recently remodeled and is well appointed.
“Adrienne and Dave's place is spectacularly clean and chic. The home renovation is well done and the outdoor upper deck is beautiful with a nice grill. The kitchen is well stocked with coffee and granola bars which was a nice touch. The small dock down below soaks in the sunlight and you'll find small dragonfly wings scattered about. You could easily launch a kayak and enjoy a calm paddle on the lake with lily pads and geese around. The hosts were also easy to communicate with and we enjoyed our couple nights there.”
