Cabin vacation rentals in Grant County

I've stayed at quite a few cabins the last ten years or so and this one was by far the most scenic. It's located atop a hill, feels very private. Love the little chicken and goat farm at the bottom. We saw a lot of deer passing through the property all day. Wild turkeys. We're birders from Ohio and got to appreciate the many different species from the front porch. You can see the mountain range from the kitchen table. Plenty of towels provided, full size fridge and freezer, large yard. Basketball court, and so forth. Two and a half bath, two full size beds and a bunk bed. Two couches. There's no lack of room. Had an issue with the hot tub but Patrick was quick to help me resolve it and was able to enjoy it on our trip. Looking forward to returning if it's available next time.

My wife and I needed a trip away from the city for the long holiday weekend where we could enjoy some good activity in peaceful surroundings with our dog. This cozy pedestal cabin in Black Bear Resort was just what we were looking for. Check in was easy by picking up the keys at the resort lodge. The place had everything we needed to a cook a couple nights for ourselves, including the gas grill on the deck. The wall-mounted 4K flatscreen TV with Roku let us relax after three active days out and about in Canaan Valley while we listened to the thunderstorms roll over the mountains each evening. This would certainly be a fine place for folks (especially with kids -- there were two sets of bunk beds in the loft) to use a base for their WV adventures any time of year!

This rental was absolutely great! The host was super sweet and extremely flexible with checking in and out, which meet our needs! Lots to do for our kids, beautiful scenery, and very well kept. Highly recommend and would like to come back again!

We loved our spring break stay at Otter's Den and would return in a heartbeat! Our group was two couples, four children (ages 9 months to 8 years) and one dog, and everyone had a great time. The house is perfect for kids -- lots of open space, and an incredible supply of games, puzzles, and books. We appreciated the comfortable beds and extremely well-stocked kitchen -- it was a joy to prepare meals in. The surrounding area has no shortage of beautiful spots, and host Heather gave us excellent recommendations for walks that even the hike-resistant toddlers enjoyed. Heather was generally a perfect host -- extremely responsive, helpful, and kind. She went above and beyond in ensuring we had a good time. We hope to come back next year!

We had a wonderful time at Kimberly’s place. We cooked all of meals and the kitchen had everything we needed…probably the best stocked kitchen we seen. Hot tub was awesome and we stayed in the “off” season so the neighborhood was super quiet, which we loved! Would definitely recommend!

We loved everything about our stay at Dasha and Alex’s place. Cannot recommend their place enough if you have kids, love a cozy place, and want to explore, the surrounding parks, Dolly Sods, Thomas and Davis and more. We know where we’re staying on our next trip to WV! Thanks guys.

Great cabin for our party of 6. Would be kinda small for 8, especially if you plan on eating in. Table seats 6. Kitchen is small, but functional. Had everything you would need, especially the coffee bar! Hot tub was great. We all enjoyed the game room/loft. Bunk room was great for the kids! King mattress was comfy, although very low to the ground. Very clean cabin! Darian was very responsive to all of our questions & even checked in with us in the middle of our trip! Would definitely consider staying here again!

Excellent location, close to tons of activities and options. We loved the house and so much space!!! Exactly as described, very comfortable and inviting. The kitchen had everything you could need and lots of space. Beds were comfortable with extra linens available. The views were amazing!! Would definitely stay in the future when we are in the area.

We couldn’t have picked a better location to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary. We spent a beautiful Saturday at Blackwater Falls and exploring any trace of the Blackwater 100 (historic offroad race) around town. Sunday was raining and we spent the entire day at the cabin having the most peaceful day watching the clouds roll through.

Friends and family members rented several cabins at Black Bear for a wonderful weekend! Joan’s description warns that AWD is needed at this time of year—and it is. 🤪. Maintenance at Black Bear was extremely responsive when one of our group had difficulty getting out of the resort due to snow/ice. Nice to have the covered back porch to take off snowy wet clothes/boots.

Very comfortable stay in any weather! Got to see the stars and the Milky Way with the naked eye at night right from the deck! Directions made it super easy to find as well.

This was a wonderful little cabin in the woods. Definitely need a 4WD/AWD car for the snowy months. Overall wonderful experience with our dogs!

Private, peaceful location. Beautiful cabin with all the amenities. Efi was very responsive and helpful. Near Thomas and Davis where there is great food and shops.

What a perfect mountain getaway! Quiet, peaceful, and a good place to relax! After days of hiking in the Dolly Sods, we enjoyed the hammock and fire pit after! Definitely worth visiting again!

Great cabin to relax and unwind. There was plenty of pots, pans and other supplies stocked. There was plenty of toys for our daughter who loved the trucks and doll house. Located near dolly sods with great hiking and not far from Davis, Thomas, and black water falls. The porch swing was a great addition to the beautiful and larger deck.

This was our seventh time staying at the black bear resort, and our first at Kimberly’s cabin. This is the first cabin we have stayed in that has two full bathrooms which is so nice with multiple people staying there. It is obvious, as soon as you walk in the door how much thought and effort Kimberly and jay have put into making this cabin a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience for their guests. The furnishings and beds were very comfortable, and we loved the coffee/hot cocoa bar! They provided great information about things to do in the area, including a list of restaurants. It is beautifully decorated with all the amenities needed for our long weekend. Would definitely recommend staying here and look forward to coming again!

Perfect home away from home. The cabin was clean and comfy. The area was beautiful, we enjoyed several hikes, local dining and caught a great show at the Purple Fiddle.

This is a great place to stay for a family getaway. It's close to some hiking trails, family fun, and a beautiful location for campfires at night.

Great places amazing views. Only issue was they provided firewood but did not state it wasn't included in rental price and charged us after our stay. Would have been nice to know before we used it.

Great little house in a great little town. Highly recommend.

We had a great family ski vacation. The house was a perfect layout for three couples and one child. We did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was well equipped. We were pleased with the cleanliness when we arrived. We would definitely rent this house if we decide to vacation in Davis again.

This spot is very far off the road. We wish we would have stayed longer. We brought so many things that were already provided, we could have packed much lighter. Pansy went above and beyond, the place was even decorated for the holiday. I wish we could have enjoyed the provided treats. Even though the weather was quite cold and snowed we stayed warm without any issues. Can't wait to get back to see Dolly Sods
