Pet-friendly vacation rentals in Grayson County

After a hectic election season, my husband and I both work in politics, my family needed a comfortable and peaceful place to relax and recharge. The cabin was a perfect setting for just that! A cozy living room, a well appointed kitchen and an incredible front porch with lots of options for sitting and relaxing made our long weekend wonderful! It makes for a perfect getaway and has an appeal for all seasons of the year. We will definitely return at some point for another unplugged weekend.

It was well the drive from Charlottesville. We would love to stay another time. That is in the plans. We say lots of birds. The house was very clean and comfortable. Great kitchen and the tea was a great addition. We made most of our meals at the house. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Bonita was GREAT! Sent directions days before our arrival, was extremely responsive with any questions we had and gave good recommendations. Her place made everyone feel at home, like we took a step back in time. She left brownies on the table which was the cherry on top! We will be back for sure.

Host is amazing and communicated well with directions and making sure home was warm and welcoming.

We were very happy with our experience at Bob’s beautiful farmhouse. He was incredibly kind, helpful, generous, and flexible. We loved the place in spite of a few understandable quirks given the circumstances (we had a little mousie friend, but we took care to pack our food. In mousie’s defense, they were very shy). If you visit you will want to ensure you have some essentials with you just in case (the nearest town is a bit far—which was GREAT). Incredible views, delicious water, great vibes, and a lot of happiness fills this place! If you’re looking for a lovely place in the mountains with wide open fields to get away for a while, I would recommend this place for sure. Also (if necessary…lol) the WiFi is super good!

We had a great time. Everything was clean, smelled fresh, and was quite comfortable. Donna was a great host to deal with. Will definitely be coming back.

Very quaint setting. Worked out great for us as we had friends who live just a short distance away. Not sure if I just didn’t figure it out or if it wasn’t available but TV options were very limited. Other than that, it suited our needs very well.

Alison is a great hostess, the home was very clean, super organized and every little detail was thought off. Everything was labeled so there was no need to look for anything. I walked in and felt like home. Also loved the fireplace, the views from the living room, the property is very quiet and peaceful. The perfect place to really relax and unplug. I am already looking for dates in the spring to come back !

Claudia is a very responsive and helpful host. Cabin was clean and easily accessible. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived which was very sweet, and cabin was nice and warm. We will definitely be back.

We were in town for work. This place was great. Booked again for the next week and probably will book again. So much better than a hotel.

We had the misfortune of being caught in a storm but Mary and family went above and beyond to help our family. We are very thankful for their kindness.

We had such a wonderful peaceful mountain weekend getaway! Private cottage with the closest neighbors being the friendly morning cows at the fence line. Tons of seating outside around the house so you can enjoy the views and sounds of nature in all directions. I enjoyed sitting on the tree swing drinking coffee in the mornings. Our golden retriever had a blast roaming the property. Kitchen is fully quipped with everything you need. Bed was comfortable. Jodi has puzzles, movies, and a few books out to use. We were having issues with the heat/furnace and fireplace during our stay. Jodi was so quick and responsive. She had someone out to help in under 30 min! Things to consider when booking here though is that this is an older home in a secluded area. Not many nearby places to go out to eat. Older home with older home smells (slightly musty). Nothing that would make us not book here again, just to let others know! Overall wonderful and replenishing stay, thank you Jodi :)

Great experience - very comfortable house.

The cabin is awesome, very well equipped and comfortable. We were 11 and 2 dogs and we had a beautiful time for Christmas and New years. Michelle is absolutely a great host, very flexible with check-in and check-out times and responded quickly and very nicely at all times. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful and great quality time. We had 5 teenagers and they absolutely loved being there watching movies and playing board games.

Nancy's home is beautiful and welcoming. This is a tranquil location with all the amenities you will need. I love the back deck/porch which has comfortable furniture and an amazing view. The owner is very gracious and responsive.

Beautiful, scenic view and lots of peace and privacy! As depicted in the photos. My dog and I loved watching the sunrise and sunset view from the patio overlook, and walking the trails on the property. Was a little hard to find the driveway entrance to the property via gps, and my Honda fit could not make it up the steep gravel driveway.

This home is an incredible mountain getaway! We wanted to check out Grayson Highlands and spend time as a family so this was the perfect spot. It is remote, so we came prepared with meals for a few days, then headed to West Jefferson for a little Ashe County cheese. This house has everything you need to enjoy the outdoors, is clean and well stocked and had great Internet access when you need it. All the stars!

Very peaceful and super quiet! Easy check-in and check-out. Everything we needed for our stay was already in the cabin. Has fenced in back yard for your fur babies so they can be included in the family fun and not be left behind, which was a huge plus for us!! It was colder in the area than what it was originally supposed to be and Joe checked in with us to make sure we were warm enough and everything was working properly, which it was. We were toasty and warm! Amazing place and great hosts!!!

This property provides a quiet and very peaceful experience. Sitting on the porch drinking coffee, the only sounds one hears are some nearby roosters and an occasional cow. We had business in Lansing so the proximity was great. The house was clean and inviting. The host provided a basket of snacks and microwave popcorn which was an unexpected treat. If we return to the Lansing area we would stay here again.
