A beautiful cottage, situated next to Gljúfrasteinn, the home, now a museum of Nobel prize winner Halldór Laxness - on the popular Golden Circle route. The cottage is warm and cozy, sleeps up to 4 people, equipped with a kitchen, shower, wifi, and modern amenities. A truly unique experience for tourists or writers/artist looking for inspiration and tranquility. High probability for Northern Lights, just step outside and look up.
“This is a fantastic place to stay in Iceland. Whether for a stopover or a long stay. The home is lovely and has all the amenities you might need for a cozy home and Iceland adventures. We cooked every morning and every night which helped save on food costs in the country. It is in a great location for travelling the golden circle or getting to Reykjavik in your car. The view was unbeatable and there was a fantastic hike to a waterfall right in the back yard. Also a great spot for seeing the northern lights, we saw them almost every night we were there! Dori and Duna were lovely hosts who shared a lot of tips and Icelandic history with us. If I could give them 6 stars I would!”
Small studio / room in a quiet neighborhood in Mosfellsbær, 15-20 min. drive to Reykjavik center, a couple of minutes of walk to the shore. Short to all local shops, restaurants, petrol station, 2 swimming pools, gym, horse riding, golf, mountain hiking etc. Perfect starting point for the so called "Golden Circle". Our facility is quite new and offers the necessary equipment for your stay and also a private bathroom with a shower. The WLAN has 117 Mbps down, 143 Mbps up, 3 ms ping.
“Tobias' place is very small, but super lovely! there is a very small kitchen that has everything you need to cook a basic meal, a small and super clean bathroom and a very comfortable fold-out bed. If you are looking for a place to stay near Reykjavik and you have rented a car, this is the place for you. Tobias was very sweet and checked up on us to make sure we were comfortable and to give us tips on what to see and do. We would come back any day :)”
Cozy up at the farmhouse breakfast table, then head to one of the nearby thermal pools to breathe in the sea air. This fresh, airy nest tucked away in a peaceful part of the city boasts breathtaking views from a majestic cliff in the backyard of picturesque mountains and ever-changing colors of the sea.
“It’s super fabulous place to stay which survives by nature and the seaside walking path, very peaceful and quiet place to stay out from downtown if you want to be relax, it’s about 15-20 minutes drive to downtown, there are also bus services in the area and super markets are not so far, I do highly recommended Thordis’s place. However, at the time I was there, I did miss my flight due to cancelling flights during the period, so I told her about that and she immediately responded and helped me as much as she could and she did the best things for her customers and came to pick me up at the airport that was very helpful and kind. I do appreciate it and thanks a lot that she stood there with me. xx”
