The studio overlooks a beautiful apple orchard with a view of the mountains and offers a rare green oasis in an urban setting. Naivasha is a short walk from the Dal Lake, Naseem Bagh and Hazratbal. It is also en route to Sonmarg and Ladakh. But, once in Naivasha, you may not want to go anywhere else! Here you can commune with Nature or travel the world in our Kashmiri/Ladakhi home named after a Kenyan lake!
“My wife and I feel Kashmir has the best scenery in the world. The best people . And the best food. We discovered it also has the best AirBnB in the world - Naivasha We landed up in Srinagar just a week after the phone curfew was lifted. Internet was still unavailable. We called up Fozia just before we landed up in Srinagar. Our itinerary was coming unstuck. We were loving our trip to Kashmir, and we were overstaying everywhere. Fozia , despite not having received our reservation due to the lack of internet, was extremely helpful and accomodative and offered to fit to our changed schedule. We were to check in on Nov 1. A Friday , and a day after the Art 370 abrogation became law. The media would have us believe that this was as potentially an unstable time to travel as any in Kashmir as any. Of course, it has no basis in reality, as safety is dependent on the local people. And in our fortnight of travel in Kashmir, we found the Kashmiris hospitable, extremely helpful as if from a bygone era, and very warm. Seeing women move around alone even late at night only reinforced our sense of security . Coming back to Nov 1.... we planned to leave Kokernag early and travel to Srinagar. We knew Naivasha had a late afternoon check in. As we were wondering what we would do in the 3-4 hours till then, we got Fozia's call, asking when we were coming so that the keys could be arranged to be handed over. When she found we were almost in Srinagar, asked us not to worry and come right over. About the Naivasha room, there's so much to write . But let me leave these wonderful pleasures for you to discover, and not spoil it for you . The attention to detail in Naivasha is beyond all expectation. We carry many memories .. The orchards and garden behind . The many birds attracted by the bird feeders, the proximity to Naseem Bagh and Hazratbal, the early morning hot girdas, lavasas and kulchas from the Kandoor down the road......... Fozia and Siddiq , who we were fortunate to meet during our 3 day stay are a remarkable couple . Talented, knowledgable, warm and so down to earth. We learnt so much from them . Hope you get to stay there on a Friday , like we did. You can do a long walk from Naseem Bagh to Hazratbal and see the varieties of wares and stalls at the Friday Dargah Market . And maybe even do a Shikara ride from one of the ghats there. We try to leave the rooms we stay in as clean as we found them. We failed in Naivasha .”

“I had a wonderful stay at Simrat' s home. I didn't meet her because she was away but I was in the capable hands of her Uncle Vijay. I had asked for a 2 day booking just before I boarded the plane. Yes Very late I know. The booking was accepted when I was on the flight but because of a problem with my data WiFi etc I did not receive the message. So I did not know my booking had been accepted. At the Airport when I landed I fell foul of a little scam. Someone approached me and I was shown lovely Accomadation in a brochure. A lovely Hotel and so I paid to stay. Unfortunately when in the taxi I was taken to a houseboat and there the hard sell started. I said no to everything that was suggested and after a couple of hours was finally taken to a hotel. A GREAT relief. There they had internet so I received the emails confirming my booking. Simrat was unbelievable kind and organised. I told her where I was and her Uncle Vijay put himself out to come the next morning to rescue me ( ha ha ) and take me to their home. There I had a wonderful stay. I extended for a few more days. It is very clean and I felt very safe, comfortable and at home. Vijay arranged a driver for me and he was very knowledgeable and reliable. I slept very well each evening and enjoyed a great breakfast each morning. The pictures and desription are accurate and I have no hesitation in recommending their home to anyone who wishes to visit Kashmir. The shower adjusted perfectly for my comfort and although Autumn and winter is on the way the garden was lovely and still full of blooms. If I return to Kashmir I will stay here again. A real surprise and a lovely thoughtful touch was to find an electric blanket to take away the chill of first getting into bed. Thank you Simrat and Vijay for making my stay a happy and memorable one. Thank you for your welcoming kindness and thoughtfulness. Vijay you are a true Gentleman. Thank you again for all your help. Kindest Regards Dave.”
