How do I submit a reservation request?
To send a reservation request:
- On a listing, click or tap Check availability
- Select dates, number of guests, then click or tap Reserve
- If you are shown Confirm and pay, you can book instantly
- If you are shown Request to book, you can add payment info, review the policies and terms, and message the host before you submit
If your request is accepted, you’ll be charged for the reservation. If the host declines the request or doesn’t respond within 24 hours, no charge is made and you can try booking a different place.
At Airbnb, we’re always working on making our community as secure as possible for everyone. That’s why we may ask for a government-issued ID or have you confirm your legal name and add your address at some point. And some hosts require their guests to complete identity verification before confirming a reservation, which allows the host to get more info about who they’re hosting.
Instant Book listings (these are the ones with the Confirm and pay buttons) don't require approval from the host. Instead, you can just choose your travel dates and book instantly without waiting for the host to respond. You can still message the host ahead of time with any questions.
