Top questions
Is my service right for Airbnb? Airbnb Services is a marketplace for high-quality services that make a guest’s stay even better. Services include catering, chefs, hair styling, makeup, massage, nails, personal training, photography, prepared meals, and spa treatments. Learn more about Airbnb Services standards. How do I apply? It’s easy to get started. First, share a little about yourself and the service you offer. Then, add photos, set your pricing, and submit your listing for review. We may get back to you with suggested changes, requests to upload licences, or to ask for proof of insurance. Once your listing is approved, you can publish it and start offering your service to customers immediately. Get started. What are Airbnb’s fees? It’s free to create and submit a listing for review. Airbnb automatically deducts a 15% service fee from the payout of every service booked.
Hosting basics
Do I need to have an existing business? It’s usually not necessary to be an established business. Depending on local regulations and the type of service you provide, we may ask for a business licence. Learn more about Services quality standards. How will guests discover my service? Services have a dedicated tab on Airbnb, and can appear at multiple phases of a guest’s trip—from search results and planning recommendations to emails and notifications. How quickly do I get paid? Depending on the service you offer, what payout method you set up in your Airbnb profile, and your financial institution, you’ll typically get paid the day after providing a service.
Application process
How are services evaluated? Services on Airbnb are vetted for quality, taking into account things like years of experience, education, certifications, awards, strong portfolios, creative offerings, and positive past feedback from guests.
What does the review process look like? Once you submit your listing, you’ll receive an email confirmation and any immediate next steps. Every service is reviewed by a real person on our team, and you should hear back from us about approval in 1–2 weeks. Can I change or edit my listing after I submit? Yes. You can edit details like description, pricing, and availability even after your listing goes live. All changes are reviewed by our team for accuracy before they can be published. What happens if my service is not approved? If your service isn’t approved initially, don’t worry. We’ll let you know if there are any issues, then help you update your listing and resubmit.Licensing & insurance
Do I need a business licence? It depends on the type of listing you’re creating as well as local regulations. If a licence or other documentation is required, we’ll notify you after we’ve reviewed your listing and ask you to submit any additional documents. Learn more about licensing requirements for service hosts. Do I need my own insurance? Airbnb requires that you maintain liability insurance appropriate for your business, and we may ask to see proof of this insurance. Does Airbnb provide insurance? Additionally, Airbnb maintains liability insurance which provides coverage of up to $1 million USD for service hosts in the rare event you are found legally responsible for a guest or others getting hurt, or having their belongings damaged or stolen during an Airbnb Service.
