Buffalo Nickel Ranch - 3 of 7

JenniferRating, 5 stars4 months ago
We chose to stay at Randi’s place for our 11th anniversary and had our first night away from the kids while they had a blast with friends. This has been our favorite AirBnB stay of all the others we have done before because we got to know Randi and Kenny so well! They are fabulous hosts, and not to mention both are excellent cooks!! We highly recommend enjoying any or all the meals you can when staying here. We loved meeting all the special animals who now have such a wonderful home there. We enjoyed our scavenger hunt and picking up little leaves and things we found to do our nature canvas paintings. It was so wonderful and relaxing to ride around with them at all the various places on the property and see all the hard work they have poured into their property over the years, and now get to share with others! The whole place is just a huge blessing! We are already planning to bring our kids with us next time. I’m also envisioning other friends and family we can bring along too.

Buffalo Nickel Ranch - 1 of 7

DonnaRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Our family had an amazing time at the Ranch! The house was absolutely pristine, and we were so impressed with the variety of clean, well-kept toys available for the kids—they were entertained from the moment we arrived. The outdoor area was stunning, offering plenty of space to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the ranch to see the animals. Meeting Louis Vuitton, the horse, was such a memorable experience—he’s truly a beauty! We also highly recommend the chef’s breakfast. It was absolutely delicious and added a special touch to our stay. Everything about this property was thoughtfully prepared, making it a perfect family-friendly getaway. We can’t wait to come back and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Our family had a wonderful time on the ranch. Beautiful location with plenty for every member of the family to enjoy. We took advantage of some of the activities that Randi offered and left with some amazing souvenirs! We will definitely be back to enjoy it again.

DeniseRating, 5 stars9 months ago
This was our 2nd year to stay at the Ponderosa! I love that she remembers our family and especially our children! You can't get that at most places. She has a genuine spirit, and we want to continue to reside at the Ponderosa for all Family Reunions to come. Thanks Judy Hope to see you soon, next year will come quicker than we know it. :)

"Sheriff's Office" at Oak Arbor, a forest retreat

TamekaRating, 5 stars46 months ago
The place was just as described. It is super attractive in person. The tranquility was priceless. We enjoyed my Mothers Day getaway from the busy city life and work stressors. We enjoyed gazing at the stars at night, the swaying of the wind from the trees, walking around the trails and the spa. Our little daughter loved petting the horses. The special touches of our fresh farm eggs and complimentary hospitality things received made us feel right at home. Judy and Steve are great hosts. They are warm, friendly and caring. They went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We experienced a storm on our way out. Steve was so thoughtful to come see us out. He led us out to ensure we were safe. That meant a lot to us. The room was very clean and fully stocked with anything you needed away from home. The kitchen was breat taking with all kinds of cooking ware, utensils, spices, etc. Unbelieveable how they didnt miss a beat of providing everything you needed away from home. The spa and the grill were extra icings on the cake. We cant wait to come back.

" Doctor's Office" at Oak Arbor, a forest retreat

TaraRating, 5 stars48 months ago
If you don't like this place, you don't deserve it!=) Stargazing, hot tubs, nightly campfires, pet friendly, access to a national park in the back yard, hard to find all those things in one place! Judy and her husband were so down-to-earth and easy to talk to and they truly care about their guests. From the first welcome to the last goodbye, you felt like you were visiting people you already knew. They have struck a perfect balance of welcoming hospitality and giving their guests plenty of space and alone time. The first evening we arrived, they pointed the way to the trailheads that lead into the national forest behind their property. We enjoyed a long walk through the piney woods with our pup on a well-marked trail. We didn't see another soul the whole way, it was so quiet. That evening, they lit a big bonfire and we wandered over and enjoyed their company and stargazing for a while. The next day we hiked a good portion of the 4-C trail that runs from Ratcliff Lake to Neches Bluff. Judy was very helpful and printed us off maps of the local trails. We cooked out on the big grill each night and saw shooting stars. Soon they will have individual hot tubs for each room but even with other guests, we had the current one all to ourselves. They've got lots of great ideas for things they are adding to the property- kayaks, treehouses- but it's honestly already perfect just the way it is. Hard to relax in our busy modern world but this is a great place for instant peace and quiet. We had a lovely stay and hope to be back!
