The decor has seen many years of love, but it makes up for it with the view. You can enjoy a beautiful sunrise on the water swinging by the lake. Our cottage is situated right across from the Devils Lake Yacht Club and a couple houses down from the only public landing on Round Lake. Our cottage provides ample parking and dock access from at least June 1 until mid October. Book early - our cottage is already booked into the 2019 season from June 29th - August 17th.
“Katie's place was exactly as expected. My friends and I had an amazing time at the lake. The kitchen had tons of cooking utensils and everything we needed to cook breakfast and grill out. Great location and we were able to walk to the corner store and several bar/restaurants in the area. Would definitely book this location again for future trips. House was a great deal.”
1 bedroom apartment, clean and modern, with queen bed in Manitou Beach. Full Size Futon in separate living area. Small kitchenette with refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. Apartment is attached to our garage, which is across the street from our lake house, on Round Lake. Guests have access to our two kayaks, pedal boat and area for swimming (seawall/no beach, but shallow and sandy). Close to MIS, and walking distance to the Highland Inn restaurant. Newly added WIFI!
“It is a cute place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded typical city life. The lake is so close and all of the surrounding houses are so unique that walking around the area was particularly enjoying.”
Bluebird Trails B&B is a new apartment made in the upper level of my 1870's farmhouse on the rolling farmland of Hillsdale County. We are a lovely 20 minute drive down country roads to Hillsdale College. Sheep pasture the meadows, dotted with ponds. Guests are invited to accompany me in my daily shepherd activities, including herding with border collies, and to take nature walks. WiFi is SLOW. We are rural and cannot get cable or fast DSL, so we have satellite.
“We've been talking about our wonderful stay at Emilie's place the entire drive home - and it's a long one! We arrived very late but Emilie's directions were perfect and she had the light on for us. The apartment is so charming and she's maximized the space to provide everything you need. Due to the virus outbreak, she currently can't come up and cook breakfast but she left a full range of ingredients in the fridge for us, AND she hand-delivered a delicious breakfast quiche to us two different mornings! We especially loved taking long walks on the property to see the ponds, observe the sheep and chickens, and just relax and spend time together. My wife had never been on a farm, so it was pretty special to show her a glimpse of how I grew up. The highlight of the stay was walking out to the field with Emilie one evening to bring the sheep back to the yard. She answered our many questions and we loved playing with the dogs along the way and seeing them work on the return trip. The mornings were quite dewey, so if you'd rather go out with her then I'd recommend some rain boots. We actually bought some and didn't end up needing them so they're in the hall closet if you forget yours! Emilie's description of the place is very accurate - WiFi is strong inside the apartment for everyday use, but we did have some problems with streaming. Not a problem for us - we opted instead to sit out on the deck and read. I would recommend bringing some bug spray with you though. Overall this quiet retreat was exactly what we needed in the midst of this new crazy world. We will definitely be back - and will bring our fishing poles along next time! We highly recommend this place!”
