“Expect this- an amazing place to stay at an INCREDIBLE value. Dougs place is the real deal- it is clean, private, open, and beautiful! We had so much fun spending the weekend here, and Doug is an absolute amazing host! He provided us with top notch hospitality, tips for heading to sequoia, and the best experience overall. We could not recommend this place enough! Thank you so much Doug!!”
This sparkling clean modern retreat is situated on private three acres of rock spires, huge boulders and stunning views. It's a magical place of respite from the crisis, yet only ten minutes to town. The house offers sprawling decks, Wi-Fi, Wolf range, gas BBQ and gas fire pit.
“This place is absolutely incredible...never seen anything like it! A perfect blend of Joshua Tree, the Owens Valley, and the Eastern Sierras makes this place juuuuust right! "Not too hot, not too cold, 10 minutes outa town, 15 minutes from Mt. Whitney, and only 3.5 hours north of Orange County. This place has it all! How many small country towns do you know of with 2,000 friendly people that rock a funky vibe and an old-school style, surrounded by 14,000+ foot jagged mountain peaks, lush pastures, cool-water creeks, majestic waterfalls, red martian-like boulders, and mind-blowing sunsets & sunrises? Oh, and the house is just a bonus! You'll see...when you walk around the private, 360 wrap-around deck and ponder about how so many massive rock formations made their way from Joshua Tree to the west side of the Paiute-Shoshone Indian Reservation and were somehow perfectly scattered around the lush green cow pastures at the base of Mt. Whitney. Plus, it's stacked with amenities, it's private, peaceful, and picturesque. 5 Star rating (my perfect place) + 5 Trillion Stars waiting (up in outer space). = 10/10”

Remote, quiet, 4750 ft elevation surrounded by mountain peaks, see spectacular sunsets and the milky way - no light pollution. All nationalities welcomed we speak French, English fluently and a bit of Dutch and Spanish.
“Jude & Pierre are two lovely warm human beings who genuinely love people (and Kane the gorgeous lab) . They both make you feel very welcome and have additional tips & advice and little local walks around Darwin. Definitely take their advice and do the short hike to the nearby veiwpoint which is simply stunning. Always wanted to stay in an airstream and this certainly didn't disappoint. The airstream to sleep and chill in; the retro camper to eat in. Plenty of space outside to relax and stargaze...and oh my the stars. Darwin is such an interesting place, an old gold mining town where you get a real sense of how it must have been 'back in the day'. Recommend reading the history of Darwin, such wild times! This really is a great place to 'get away from it all' and perfect location for exploring that section of DV - limekilns, Emigrant & Wildrose Canyons, Panamint Springs etc.”
