“This place is a gem and great value. We went in March, so the weather was a bit cold. We didn't go kayaking or swimming, but it was perfect weather for the hot tub and sauna. Very relaxing. The interior is very charming and spacious for 4 people. We enjoyed cooking and eating the kitchen and hanging out in the living room. Meredythe and her husband are both very welcoming and kind. They really made us feel at home when we first arrived and as we occasionally interacted with them during our stay. They are great hosts and are very involved in making their place a great experience for guests. Would definitely stay again!”
Quaint and cozy cottage on Bear Lake in Hillsdale, MI. All linens provided. Bring your friends and your boats, campers, and tents; there’s plenty of room for everyone to enjoy this great fishing and all sports lake!
“We really enjoyed our stay .Nites are peaceful and stars and sunsets are enjoyable. If the kitchen gets smoky you can set off the fire alarm! No A/C but beautiful sliders on the porch that give great views. We felt swimming straight from the beach area was difficult so we drove into Hillsdale and swam on the far side of Waterworks Park at Baw Bees lake. Its about a 15 minute drive and you can walk in sandy / rocky bottom and is lake water but less muddy. We took round floats to that lake theres also a true roped off swimming beach which says it charges $5 a car load but no one ever there. Walmart and Krogers about 15mins away. Felt this was a great spot to relax and unwind. We appreciate the location and the chance to detach. If you are someone that cant survive without your phones we found the Wifi at the house not strong enough if a few people would get on and we have Tmobile and ATT and reception for both of those were no existent until you got into town. But we played games provided, watched great movies we never saw before and just enjoyed rowing out on the lake in the boat and kayak. Our family included a 15 yr old and a 22 yr old and 19 yr old and everyone enjoyed there time away we left feeling very relaxed infact we also picked this location due to its close proximity. It was a 3 hr trip back home door to door which made it a perfect spot for us also.”
Be adventurous and stay in rustic old Gidley Station. It was moved to "Trail Acres" in the 1920's and was converted to a house. It has a unique but spacious floor plan, and is on a property that we have been working hard to restore for the last few years. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BEFORE BOOKING!
“Kammy's Gidley Station home is a unique one. It has a fantastic history including the surrounding area. The full kitchen was great for making all of our meals for the three days we were there. It has lots of room for larger families too. You have free roam of the grounds for the most part. We enjoyed exploring the old windmill and terrific barn on the grounds. Our 14 year old daughter liked drawing under the big tree in the front yard while our 8 year old son played and my husband hung out on the porch. We appreciated all of the Christian based messages displayed around the house. It instantly made all of us feel right at home and welcome there. The home and the grounds are super peaceful and emit a very relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely stay here again if in the area. In Jesus name, sincerely, The Lowerys”
