We welcome you all to experience our culture and tradition. Our Homestay is location in quite and peaceful area where you can see the mesmerizing view of Mt. Kangchenjunga. We will provide you farm fresh organic food. Enjoy your holiday with us.!!
“Host and her family were wonderful. Very friendly and ready to help each and every time. Location: You need little hiking from the main road to reach the homestay. We paid 100₹ to the luggage boy to carry our luggages. But, location of the house is wonderful and you can get a clear view of the mountains. Rate: If I compare the rate with the accommodation then it little bit costly. Only veg food available and we paid 150₹ per plate for RICE + DAL + SAK only. According to me its too much. Host: Host and her family is wonderful, they are very kind and innocent peoples and we have enjoyed our stay over there.”
Excellent view of Mt. Kangchenjunga range. Quiet & peaceful locality. Ideal for people planning to get away from city. Nearby many awesome places for visit. Professionally staffed with its own restaurant. All foods are prepared from organic local produce. 30kms from Peiling, 4 Km from Kaluk.
The Gyaltsen's home stay is a typical Sikkimese traditional home away from home, its tugged amidst the remote western districts of sikkim, with lush green lawns, plenty of agricultural land and farms for fresh organic vegetables etc..it is a home stay where one can forget about all worries and be lost in the wilderness of nature..It is just about 30 minutes ride to pelling..about 10 minutes to kaluk..all sites can be covered within 45 to 50 minutes ride.. You are advised to come with an open heart and live with us like a part of our family..we serve you sikkimese delicacies or something you would prefer..you can actually select your own veggies from our organic farm and cook yourself... You are also advised to come with a pair of your trekking shoes since there is a lovely trek about 10 minutes from the car park to our home stay..amidst the fresh springs, paddy fields...
“I travelled along with my wife and parents to Sikkim, and we wanted to experience and understand the local culture, food and activities. We knew we had to stay at a non-commercial place to experience this, so we booked the Gyaltsen’s Homestay for 4 nights. Our stay at Gyaltsen’s exceeded our expectations. We were the first guests at the newly opened homestay, and were warmly welcomed by the whole family. We will always remember the numerous conversations we had with the senior Mr. Gyaltsen on Sikkimese history and farming, the energy and kindness of our caretaker Pemu who looked after my mom when she fell ill, the trek to the local monastery and caves with Mr. Gyaltsen’s younger son Rinchen, and the attention to detail in making our stay memorable by Mr. Gyaltsen’s elder son Rinzing. These guys go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and enjoy your stay. We were treated to scrumptious local food and drinks at all times, and the prices were very reasonable. They grow most of their vegetables, and everything else is locally sourced. This place is not for everyone. You will need to hike a short distance on a forested path to reach the house, and every time you plan to go out sightseeing. The rooms are a little creaky, there are dogs and cats running all around the house, and we had to deal with frequent power cuts as we went in the monsoon. For those of us who can look beyond the minor inconveniences, and love to spend time living very close to nature, the Gyaltsen’s Homestay is a wonderful opportunity to get to experience the raw beauty and hospitality of Sikkim.”
