“I cannot say enough nice things about this spot! Abby was quick and responsive to all of my messages, check in was smooth sailing and so was check out! The space itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated. The bed and couch were incredibly comfortable. The attention to detail really showed! It’s close enough to Richmond that you could attend an event or such in town and then come back. Maybe 30 minutes commute? The location is quiet and secluded. Close to a grocery store and take out places depending on your desire to cook or not. Thanks again Abby for a great weekend!”
Enjoy our cabin in the woods in the beautiful countryside of Virginia. Sit on the front porch and listen to the birds. Relax and get away from the noises of life. We call it "Switzerland" because it is a no stress type of place. Conveniently located between Historic New Kent/Hanover County line and Richmond/Williamsburg, it's a day-trip to the beautiful mountains and wineries of Charlottesville or to museum hopping in Washington, DC. Enjoy your stay!
“Want to get awhile from it all and enjoy nature? Then this is the place. Absolutely gorgeous, secluded and private but with everything you need and more. We loved having our morning coffee and evening happy hour out on the deck, enjoyed trying to identify birds and just relax listening to the trees. Bedrooms are comfy, kitchen is very well equipped. Books games, WiFi and and a grill completed our experience. Brenda was prompt in communication and helpful when we had questions. We had thought about going out for take out dinner but just ended up stopping at the store and bringing food back for our meals, wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks Brenda!”
Welcome to Travelers Rest, a historic twenty-three acre farm located in scenic King and Queen County, Virginia. As the name suggests, travelers and tobacco rollers would often stop to refresh themselves, as well as their horses, from the stream that flows at the foot of the hill. Even one of our very own founding fathers himself, George Washington, would stop and rest here on his travels to and from his home at Mount Vernon and Williamsburg - now you can do the same!
“Our family had a marvelous time at Agnes’ place. Agnes was warm, welcoming and so generous with her time and her beautiful horses. Our girls were invited to join Agnes every day and help with daily horse farm chores. They had a blast and learn so much. Agnes’ place is located only 1hr from Williamsburg making it the perfect location for a quick day trip to visit local attractions. If your family is big on farm life and enjoy a beautiful setting , this is the place for you. Our family can’t wait to be back !”
