Casita Tomate is a cosy one bedroomed house situated in the middle of the small village of El Ferrer. The house having traditional wooden beams through out. Open ground floor. With a private terrace from bedroom one the first floor.
“Perfect for two people. The thing I will remember are the relaxing days spent on the terrace and also exploring the various tracks in the valley behind the village. We didn’t hire a car so Nicky and Rupert were very kind in collecting us from Castell de Ferro and driving us back up the hill with our shopping and luggage. Also they let us know when they were going into town and were happy to pick up supplies for us. The house is well stocked with basics such as herbs, spices and rice, and a generous selection of fruit and vegetables were there for our arrival. Local wine, almonds and eggs are for sale in an honesty box just opposite the front door. We did walk to the shop, but only once as it’s quite a long way along the road past the greenhouses. It’s interesting to see the local industry but we preferred the peace and quiet of the village and the walks from there further inland. We saw various wild flowers including orchids. There are almond trees and lavender everywhere. We walked up to the village Rubite which was interesting to see. In the morning the sun comes up over the mountains and shines directly through the window opposite the bed. What a joy. If you open the door to the terrace, you can even sunbathe lying on the bed!”

“A very nice apartment that does not lack any detail. It is small but very comfortable and very well divided each zone. The tranquility of the place and the closeness means that for 24 hours you are listening to the sound of the sea. The terrace is wonderful, with a very comfortable hammock to relax and the best views of the beach. Cleaning a 10 !! The hostess has answered all messages very quickly. In summary, very good experience and highly recommended.”
In the tiny village of Alfornón in the Alpujarras region of Granada, Andalucia, at 900 metres in the mountains, 40 minutes from the sea.
“What to say that hasn't already been said!? Delia's casa provided us with the location for a perfect holiday. Beautifully situated at the top of this sleepy village, the casa ensured we had the peace and space we had been looking for and more. Loved the silent nights, ripe figs and the heady scent of jasmine. We enjoyed long lie ins knowing there would still be ample time for a trip to a local beach as the September sky was generally clear and the weather, warm. We found it well worth our while making bigger trips to the high Alpujarra and especially found Orgiva, Pampaniera and Trevelez interesting and charming. The Alhambra was well worth the effort and an evening in Granada city gave us a taste of urban Andalusia. Best of all, though was Playa el Ruso, a local beach we virtually had to ourselves and well worth the scramble down the path. One word of caution, this is a mountainous region so be prepared for the corkscrew journey to get, well anywhere. Still the roads are very quiet which helps. Two weeks could easily have drifted into four.”
