“"Mi casa es su casa, asi es la vida en la colocha." I had the chance to stay a few days with Tania and Nino, the room is perfect, the bedding very comfortable. There are hammocks everywhere for relaxation and a kitchen is fully equipped. I felt directly at home. The house is away from the hotel complexes, you will stay in the Guatemalan atmosphere :) I especially had the honor of discovering Nino who illuminated my stay. Attentive to the well being of her guests, and anxious to integrate airbnb into village life (cinema session with friends of hers and her hosts for example when I was there) and also she gave me lots of good plans for the trip. But more than accommodation you will meet a beautiful soul, values that made me warm, tolerance and kindness are the words here. I recommend to everyone! ❤”

“Peter, Jenny, and family were fantastic hosts. When we arrived, their son helped us carry our luggage and Peter helped us spot some iguanas from our front porch. Jenny then came over and took us next door to their daughter’s cat sanctuary (Crazy Tails Cat Sanctuary). She has 31 cats on her property and they’re all incredibly sweet and well cared for! The house itself was a gem: clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Peter was also extraordinarily kind to us and gave us some binoculars for wildlife spotting, booked our tours for us, and did our laundry for us (and folded it!). This is definitely one of the coolest Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in and trust me, we’ve stayed in a lot. If you’re looking for a secluded place vibrant with wildlife just a hop skip away from downtown San Ignacio, this is the place for you!”

“This place is amazing! My wife, our nine-year-old daughter, and I absolutely loved staying here. The house is absolutely beautiful and full of intentional artistic touches. The ecological design was exciting to see as well, with the option of using a methane digestor stovetop burner and tropical permaculture garden. We were greeted by toucans in giant guanacaste trees and an absolutely epic swimming spot on the river behind the house. We took a dip immediately upon arrival at dusk and came out of the river to see fireflies along the bank. Sitting on the screened-in porch in the morning and drinking coffee, looking over the river, listening to the sounds of the jungle and watching the countless bird species (the provided binoculars was a great touch) was a highlight of my trip. Hadas was an exceptional host. We were in contact before the trip and she was able to send me a pdf guidebook about the place and the area that really helped in planning our trip. She met us when we arrived and was very patient and gracious with us while we landed and even took us down to the river to catch the last bit of daylight with a swim (we had left our house in Colorado at 2AM and had spent the whole day traveling to get there). She walked us through all the details of the place and made sure we were settled, bringing us fresh fruit and cut flowers for our stay. There was also a mini-bar of sorts with some chocolates and snacks available for purchase, as well as free coffee and tea. We would have loved to spend more time here, and are planning on coming back some day. It is really close to places to eat in Santa Elena and San Ignacio, but feels like a sanctuary. I would recommend this place to anybody.”
