“Our stay at Hummer’s Haven is something we will never forget! This vacation was amazing and everyone felt right at home, it was so comfy! Everything we experienced was above and beyond our expectations and so many of the written materials that were provided were very helpful. The home is beautifully decorated and perfect for a large group such as ours (14) to enjoy. The amenities (gazebo, fire pit, play grounds, trampolines, deck, hot tub, volleyball net) were the icing on the cake and made this trip exceedingly worth it!!!”

“Danny & Donna’s place exceeded our expectations! We had big summer plans to go to Europe for 2 weeks to celebrate our first anniversary & were feeling pretty down when the trip had been cancelled. I am so happy I decided to find a safe, close to home alternative instead of sitting in my disappointment. The open kitchen/living room space downstairs was so homey & relaxing with so many comfortable seating options! The upstairs was equally relaxing with a comfy bed, small loft with a daybed, and lots of great natural light, including some skylights in the bathroom! Oh and the shower, with it’s magical mood lighting was the perfect touch! We made it to the top of the bird’s nest once- I realized in my older age that I’m a tad afraid of heights, but it was fun to do something a little scary (because it was totally safe, but made me feel oh so brave!). What a view! The way the spa is positioned on the back patio made you feel like you could be deep in the forest, anywhere in the world. The house was super clean & uncluttered. Everything had a purpose. Thank you guys so much for the cake! We are currently still working on finishing it. We hope to stay again, soon! Thanks again!”
This is our weekend getaway cabin that we have made available to the public. We love spending time out at this shared property with an additional Tiny Home Airbnb, and want others to enjoy it too! The cabin has an open concept floor plan with views seen from every room! You can sit inside or out and overlook the Texas/Oklahoma countryside.
“For those in the North Texas area, please mark this location as a wonderful combination of distance, convenience and relaxation. Also, this reviewer is someone more used to the concrete fields of suburbia than the outdoors so keep that in mind. The house was about an hour drive for us from the northern suburbs of Dallas. There is a gate that secludes the entire property from any public traffic so there is significant privacy. The AirBNB is for a cabin, but in reality, you are getting access to a much larger outdoor area that includes a large field, lots of beautiful natural flowers, a very large pond at the bottom of a walkable hill, and the surrounding foliage and "walking paths". It looks like these "paths" were actually ATV trails but we were able to walk them with 2 young children so they are definitely doable. We walked around the pound and it took about 45 minutes - hour to get down, walk around, and come back up the hill to the cabin. That's how large the property is. In essence, this stay was a peek into the life of family who has invested a significant amount of time and energy into creating the perfect weekend getaway for themselves. Truly, the gem of the property is the outdoor space. There is a large outdoor wooden porch that encircles the entire home. To put it in perspective, we brought push scooters for the two kiddos and they were able to ride around the house on the porch without any problems at all. The sounds of nature are soothing and ever-present. We had perfect weather most of the stay with brisk mornings in the low 60s and highs in the low 70s in the afternoon. Most of the time was spent reading on comfortable padded chairs sipping wine while the kids were playing in the fields or on the porch. We used a large 4-5 burner propane gas stove to grill steaks one night (it seems like only the two left burners were working and I couldn't find a grill brush so we enjoyed some of the previous inhabitant's char on our steaks but it added flavor!). There is a large fire pit off to the side of the house that we used one evening to make s'mores and enjoy the beautiful weather/space. One of the neighbors has 4-5 horses that abuts the property so our children spent time marveling at being so close to animals (like I said, we are suburbanites!). Those animals were someone else's private property so we did not go near them - we just admired them from afar. The interior of the house was wonderful as well. The decor could potentially be described as chic rustic. The central living area has expansive windows on all 4 sides that brings in wonderful natural light. There's a small cozy master bedroom with a washer and dryer, and a small but beautifully appointed bathroom. The kitchen is fully stocked with most of the usual amenities (we did wish there was a strainer for draining pasta) and a small Haier dishwasher. There were stylish ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. There was also a quality Samsung wall AC/heating unit in the main living room. There's also a large loft accessible by ladder which made a wonderful play area for the kids with three beds, carpet and a TV with a DVD payer. Of note, there are three total TVs in the property Our stay was wonderful. There were certainly things that could have been improved (dishwasher didn't always get everything clean, a large ladder in the kitchen is a beautiful aesthetic touch but wasn't fully set properly on the tracks so it squeaked when it was moved and it was somewhat obtrusive for normal kitchen activities, and not a lot of storage/desk space). Also, there was no dining table in the home - the only one was located on the outdoor porch. In general, this was great because it forced us outside and as I mentioned, the weather was beautiful while we there. However, there was a torrential rain storm the morning we left and we ended up eating breakfast inside because the table and chairs were wet, even being situated far underneath a roof. It would have been nice to have some sort of table option inside of the home especially for times of inclement weather. We definitely felt secluded and had a chance to get recharged with nature. Given the current COVID-19 situation, we basically planned all of our meals for 3.5 days and brought everything we needed in a large cooler. We didn't leave the property a single time while we were there. However, there is an Albertson's supermarket a few minutes drive away if you did happen to forgot something. There were times various contractors were on the property doing work but the area is large enough that it didn't feel obtrusive. We asked questions multiple times to the property owners and they were very responsive. Their assistant, Anna, was pleasant to interact with over the AirBNB messaging service. We couldn't find remote controls so the owner, Justin, came over and showed us where everything was (hint: under the main TV in the living room, the wooden ledge has a hinged push compartment that reveals extra storage space). Overall, this was a wonderful stay and the owners truly have a gem of a property. The intended focus of this property was for their weekend get-a-way home and thus was designed with that in mind. The minor deficiencies we mentioned may not actually have been deficiencies to them (no indoor eating table and minimal desks/dressers). I suspect these were intentional choices to discourage indoor clutter and to embrace the outdoors. I would return without hesitation and highly, highly, highly recommend this property. It felt more like an outdoor retreat than a cabin rental. I hope readers can read this and be encouraged to go ahead and”
