Cute 12X14 cabin. Kitchenette with microwave, fridge, k-cup coffee maker (assorted flavors of coffee, creamer, sugar provided). Recreational playground: Hundreds of miles of fire trails to hike, quad, bike, or horseback ride. Short walk to Feather River for swimming, fishing, tubing, and kayaking.
“This cabin was everything we expected and more! We didn’t expect to have a small stove, microwave and small fridge but we did, and it was so convenient. Charley was super friendly, and accommodating with our trip. We arrived 30 mins before check in and Charley was able to accommodate without any fuss or issue. I didn’t expect the cabin to have so much land to explore; between the train track and beach area you won’t run out of adventure. My boyfriend and I are without a doubt planning on coming back to explore the Paxton lodge some more. Charley and staff was great, and there was so many cute, friendly dogs too that we had the pleasure of meeting. The perfect cabin to check into if you’re seeking to unplug from reality for a bit. Lastly, the neighboring town Quincy is super quaint and fun too!”
This cabin has all the comforts of home. Located in a community built by the rairoad in the early 1900's. next to the historic Paxton Lodge. Gold, Trains, Ghosts and RocknRoll A short walk to the Feather River and the best sand beach on the river! Swimming, kayaking, and fishing are all available. Hiking, horseback riding, off road trails for hundreds of miles.
“I booked my stay with Paxton Lodge - The Todd Cabin (Named after Todd who built the cabin haha) This cabin is perfect for a couple or a small group of friends. The cabin is tucked away in a beautiful forest by the cascading rivers. Not to mention you can still hear the trains passing through. How cool is that!! The cabin was really inviting and cozy. There were plenty of fresh towels, pillows, clean linens, and even small toiletries in case you left your shampoo and lotion at home. The shower is a bit small, but awesome cause the hot water runs fantastic !!! (I wasn’t sure if it would only because the cabin is older but pleasantly surprised) The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of pots, cups, utensils, a coffee maker, microwave, stove, fridge, freezer and bbq grill outside with all of the bbq supplies. Highly recommend you bring some steaks, casseroles, veggies to grill and burgers. It’s nice to cook your meals while you stay. The outdoor bbq area is private to the cabin so you can enjoy your own conversations and cook at your own pace. The 360 views were amazing. You can’t beat the hike at Cascade Trails. It’s a pretty easy 3 mile hike (6 miles in total) I suggest to take a light backpack with water and some snacks. It’s very well kept so it’s good for beginners and kids and even pets. There is no WIFI or TV, but that’s why I chose to stay here. It’s nice to deplug from everything. If you must I suggest to download episodes of your shows and watch it that way. Otherwise hop into town and visit the Quintopia Brewery. Such a gem on the main strip of town. They serve great seasonal drinks, you can order a beer flight or grab a bite to eat. Charley and the owners of the property are soooo nice and I would highly recommend everyone visit this small, cute town of Paxton and the Paxton Lodge. So much history and charm. Loved this much needed relaxing trip.”
Cabin is small and cozy with one room and a bath. Walking distance to the beautiful Feather River. Sand beach. Walk to hundreds of miles of hiking trails. Swimming, kayaking, hiking, and gold panning all available.
“This place was fantastic. Absolutely gorgeous little cabin in the woods; very easy access without four-wheel drive, which was a plus for the area. Charley offers great amenities, and there's so much nature to experience in the area. No internet and very little cell reception, so if you're looking for a place to disconnect like we were, this is definitely the place to do it! There's a small town called Quincy about 15 miles down the road, and everything is pretty easy to direct yourself using signs even if you're city-dwellers like I am and not used to directing without GPS. All within about an hour's drive are Bucks Lake, Lake Alamanor, Greenville, and Quincy, and about an hour and a half away is Lassan Volcanic National Park. Incredible views and hiking trails of all levels of difficulty from the very experienced to the beginners. Charley was kind enough to include maps of the area and Plumas County visitors guides, which were extremely helpful for exploring and finding trails/places to go to. Also, turn out all the lights at night and be ready to experience some great stargazing opportunities on your own little porch! The cabin itself was super cozy and quaint, filled with great history and comfort; it's perfect if you're looking to get more of the woods without the gruel of camping. Be prepared for short showers and hand washing your dishes though, and bring plenty of bug spray if you're not partial to insects (we had no problems in the cabin after the first spray of Raid).”
