Haggerston’s endearingly worn-in atmosphere can be attributed to its motely mix of progressively designed apartment complexes, orderly cafe counters, and meticulously boarded up windows. Sharing the same offbeat attitude as nearby Shoreditch, artists and students often congregate in Haggerston—a neighbourhood known for its laissez-faire attitude where unpredictability is expected. High-end neighbourhood hunters take note: this northeast London locale is better suited to those who appreciate a graffiti-friendly aesthetic and an everyday, multicultural community.See places to stay Save this neighbourhood

Airbnb works with local photographers to capture the spirit of neighbourhoods all around the world. The photography on this page includes work by:
Arne is a German photographer and cameraman. He gained experience in various fields such as TV drama, commercials, and documentaries. His work has taken him all over the world and since 2008, he's been based in London where he recently finished his MA of Arts at Goldsmiths College. While working for Airbnb, he discovered a completely new side of London and many of its hidden secrets.
Rebecca Duke has been working as a photographer for the last decade, after attending Central St Martin’s in London. Her work focuses on people, interiors and travel and has been published in The Sunday Times, Elle Decor and Conde Nast Traveller. Rebecca travels frequently for her work but loved working in her hometown of London for this project. London’s friendliness about this work took this ‘true Londoner’ by surprise.
