Where do locals hang out in Los Cabos?

San José del Cabo, about a 30-minute drive from Cabo San Lucas, is a locals’ haven for art and food. Michelin-star chefs and musicians, among others, call this part of the coastline home. The San José Art District is a great place to see the action first hand, where it feels like a bustling village of galleries, cafes, and restaurants. Lush gardens and farms sit just out of the center of town, where you can dine, shop, and more.

What are the best beaches in Los Cabos?

Playa del Amor

It’s also known as Lover’s Beach, and conveniently located near El Arco. Generally calm waters make this a great place to swim, kayak, paddleboard, and snorkel. You cannot get here by car or on foot, and many people book boat tours to enjoy time at this beach (and for a longer cruise around these warm waters). Boat tours can include food and drinks, depending on what experience you choose.

Playa El Médano

Also known as Medano Beach, this is one of the largest swimmable beaches in Los Cabos. Lifeguards are typically on duty along this stretch of water where the public beach spans several miles. There are plenty of waterside restaurants and bars to grab refreshments in between a beach day.

Playa el Chileno

Chileno Beach is another great swimming beach, nestled between Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San José. Here you can spend a day relaxing in between snorkeling and swims.

What are the day trips in Los Cabos?

Nature and fun in La Paz

Arriving in La Paz, it’s no wonder that Jacques Cousteau called its waters (part of the Sea of Cortez) “the world’s aquarium.” Experience for yourself on local-led snorkeling tours, glass-bottom boats, and other activities on the water. You can also visit Museo de Antropología e Historia de Baja California Sur for exhibits and displays on the region’s history.

Surfing and arts in Todo Santos

Just over an hour north of Cabo sits the picturesque town on the Pacific coast of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula. In the town center, you find folk art, shops, eateries, and more. It’s also a great place for surfers of all skill levels at beaches such as Playa Los Cerritos (Cerritos Beach).
