Hermoso departamento! Albatros garden

ZulemaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Viri’s place was great! The location was really convenient and walkable distance to zona dorada. She was very friendly, communicative, and gave clear and easy instructions to check in. She was available and very responsive during our stay. The apartment was really cute and very clean. The AC was great. The apartment was well equipped. I appreciated the gated door as an extra measure of security. Would totally stay again, and highly recommend.

Your guide to Mazatlan

All About Mazatlán

Located on Mexico’s Pacific coast across the southernmost point of the Baja California Peninsula, Mazatlán is known for its golden sandy beaches. The 500-year-old seaside town attracts visitors seeking sun, snorkelling, and fresh seafood dinners. Take a day trip on a boat to nearby islands, meander the cobbled streets of the old town to take in the neoclassical buildings, or simply lose a day soaking up the rays on one of Mazatlán’s expansive beaches.

Mazatlán has enough historical sites and traditional cafés to keep you occupied, but venture further afield and you’ll find out where the locals go for peace and tranquillity. In the districts outside of the city centre you can explore the plazas, markets, and restaurants that cater to residents while also making the most of this coastal retreat.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Mazatlan

While any time of year is a nice time to visit Mazatlán, the wetter months tend to be from July to October. Though it may not always rain during that time, you can expect high humidity and hot temperatures. The late winter and early spring tend to be dry and warm, while still offering plenty of opportunities for swimming. These may also be ideal months for those wishing to explore on foot so as to avoid the more extreme heat. To be sure, no matter what time of year you visit, Mazatlán vacation rentals close to the beach and city centre will provide an added respite from any heat or rain.

Top things to do in Mazatlan

Mazatlán Lighthouse Lookout Point

Take a hike up the hill to this panoramic lookout from the Mazatlán Lighthouse. The hike lasts from 25 minutes to an hour (depending on your speed). Here you’ll find a glass walkway offering unobstructed views over the water and the city.

Old Mazatlán

Wander the streets of the city’s old quarter and you’ll find rebuilt colourful houses showcasing 19th-century neoclassical architecture. In this neighbourhood, there is the Teatro Angela Peralta opera house, as well as markets, shops, and restaurants lining the narrow streets where you can indulge in the local cuisine. It’s also home to art galleries as well as vibrant student life due to the number of colleges and universities across the city.

Malecón de Mazatlán

This boardwalk along the water’s edge is one of the longest oceanfront walkways in the world. It stretches 8.5 kilometres north of Olas Altas Beach, near the historic city centre, and consists of a series of interconnecting roads that reflect different stages of the city’s history. Along these roads you’ll see sculptures by the beach, islands off in the distance, waves crashing on the rocks, and traditionally restored façades housing restaurants and shops.
