This is an authentic Yucatecan experience. We'll visit 2 of our favorite cenotes and one hacienda (historical building) on ​​this day of Mayan jungle adventure & probably (hopefully) we'll have them just to ourselves (depending on the season and the day) or at least we won't find a crowd in them. (Perfect for families, couples, groups of friends, and solo travelers). The first cenote is a cavern one, with sapphire blue water (not cold) from where we will appreciate to the bottom of it (it may vary in raining season). The second cenote is a perfectly shaped open circle with incredible emerald water surrounded by trees and birds. We’ll tell you a few things about the mayan culture as you take in the impressive views of these hundreds of millions of year old rock formation while you swim, snorkel, explore, float, do high jumps from almost 32 ft! (just for the most adventurous) or just relax in each of these cold&fresh water cenotes taking pictures. We will stay from 45 mins to 1 hour (depending on you) in each cenote, without rushing (something typical in normal tours). Are you ready for adventure? We will visit two places full of culture and magic, starting with Uxmal, one of the most important Mayan cities in the region and an unprecedented beauty. We will share with you some cool history of the mayans as we get to the city and then you will discover it at your own rythm. Join me in this experience filled with learning about nature, snorkeling, fun, amazing experiences and photos. We will start our day with a road trip to the town of Pixyah, Yucatan located an hour and a half from the city of Merida, we will visit two cenotes in the same area with enough time for us to enjoy and learn in each of the two. After spending the whole day enjoying these magical places, a family from the community will do us the favor of opening their home to us for a magnificent meal, undoubtedly a unique experience. we will talk about the culture of the region history and geography of the place. Enjoy the Cenotes Santa Bárbara
The Yucatan peninsula is marked by its history and nature, the latter enriched by its variety of animal species and a large number of cenotes. In this adventure I will take you to know three of the Homún cenotes, (Cascabel, Chaksikín and Xoch) and if we have time we will go to two more which are in the same area covering a total of approximately 8 km. I will pass by you in my car to where you are staying and we will go together to enjoy these cold waters that will undoubtedly relax us. Everything is included and as part of it we will have access to the cenotes, the equipment and a regional meal in the restaurant of the facilities. First we will arrive and reserve our lunch, then we can choose between a truck pulled by horses or bicycles to get to the cenotes (you choose). (Literally) We will go through the first square of the city, unveiling the mysteries that houses and facades keep, focusing our journey on the history, the mayans and the importance of the underground passages. We will start in the park of Santa Lucía and from there we will begin our journey. We will get to know the history of the Mayans that lived in the now called Merida Centro, the pyramids that they had, the churches, and more. We will tell you histories taken from old books never heard before! At the end we will meet the underground tunnels in person! (Most yucatecans believe they are a myth) Accessing the only fragment of original underground passageways of the viceroyalty that exists in the city (we are the only ones who have access to them) You will know the reason for its construction, some legends and personal stories while you walk on its Mayan temple stones, lit by candles, making in this way a trip back in time to colonial times. This experience departs from Merida, city. We'll be back in the city of Merida between 6 to 7:00 pm. From the Flamingos area to Merida is around 2.5 to 3 hours drive. On our way back to Merida we will make a final stop in a Cenote where you will have the chance to swim in their crystal clear water. Finally we will head back to Merida.
