Beautiful cottage located on the north end of Pelee Island.
“The house was great. Better than the pictures. Sleeps 8 in 4 double beds, but only one full bath. An amazing wrap around porch, and lots of windows meant airflow was spectacular, nice crisp fresh air circulating through the whole house. Convenient location next to the bakers (which has the best food on the island). Well equipped kitchen. Plan to cook your dinners, hit the bakery for breakfast and lunch out if you aren't a big cook - the food on the island is uninspiring - the Bakery and the winery have the best food options - but likely aren't what most are thinking for dinner. Be sure to book your Ferry passage as soon as you book the house. Also - a great place for dogs - the whole island was incredibly pet friendly.”
Welcome to Kate’s Place on the beach. Prepare to unplug and relax, read on the screen porch swing, swim, kayak, fish or just build a sand castle. Watch the sun rise from the kitchen island and collect sea glass from the best sandy beach on the island. Bright airy great room and kitchen for family gatherings.
“A quiet cottage on the island with nice design and your own stretch of beach. Everyone loved it!! This place has so much in terms of amenities, you will be spoiled: Large ufo water disk platform, outside porch overlooking the water, wind chimes, 7 adult deck chairs, really nice indoor swing, indoor bbq, screened in deck, 3-level kids playground with 3 swings and trap door & slide, 2 multi-person kayaks, large hammock, wraparound deck, ceiling fan in almost every room, bright morning sunrise, shade from the midday sun from a large tree over the cottage, 3 adult cottage bikes, 3 kids cottage bikes, air conditioning(!!!), TWO bathrooms with TWO showers(!!), bed mattresses are NOT beaters as you might find at some places---I had a good night's sleep, 4 tv sets including a big screen led tv in the main area, surround sound system, dvd player, VHS player, large common area, kitchen island, multiple appliances and tools, noisy fan in the upstairs bathroom is a GREAT white noise source for a good sleep esp. if you have young children, large freezer, high end dishwasher(!), range, microwave oven, water cooler for drinking water, Juliet balcony, even a clothes washer and dryer and a trash compactor thing in the sink. Large windows keep the common area bright all day and to see ships pass in the distance. Wonderful sandy beach with warm water. Wake to the sound of the waves, relax on the swing in the screened-in porch or outside on the deck facing the water or as you lie in the big hammock. Space on the beach where you can roast marshmallows. Even a long garden hose to keep on hand to put out the fire afterwards :-). But don't forget the bug spray. Dark skies with thousands of stars you'll never see in the city. It would have been nice if there was a windsurfer and a little sailboat (sunfish or equivalent), and they didn't have a playpen for our toddler, but that is getting very picky. Kate's place was very very nice. We had a great time on Pelee and we miss Kate's place already.”
RRunaway is a family cottage on the northeast side of Pelee Island, Ontario, Canada. The property has outstanding lakefront views. There is access to a quiet beach and walking distance to the Lighthouse Point Provincial Nature Reserve. Lake Henry is across the road from the cottage so you are surrounded by water. This is a perfect setting to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility that Pelee offers. Please send inquiry if you are interested in a special date request (eg. shorter stay)
“My wife and I had an excellent time in Ruth's cottage. All night long we could hear the waves come into the shore only ~25 metres away. And with a constant breeze from the lake we were always cool in the night, and that also kept the mosquito population at zero. The lake was so amazing to swim in. It was incredibly nice and warm! The sunrises were amazing, while having breakfast on the back deck. We were travelling on bicycle. Even though the cottage is at the north-east end of the island we easily cycled everywhere (at a relaxing pace). The cottage had everything one could ask for in terms of amenities. It was very clean and neat and had some board games and an interesting selection of books to read. There was no internet, which was just fine by us. But, if you really want to be connected there is a cell phone tower about 500m away and cell reception was great [all over the island]. We really enjoyed our stay and would easily return.”
