Cretan properties get their hot water from solar energised tanks above the villas. We can't wait to see how the other two properties turn out when the buildings are completed. The place is situated high in the mountains with a steep gradient so you need the confidence when hiring vehicles otherwise it's a €7 trip down to the promenade. Piskopianio is a lovely Cretan historical town but be sure you go in the right season as the Waterparks were closed for the season when we stayed much to our disappointment. The trip to Chrissi Island was long but worth it. The higher regions of Crete tend to be more windy than the lower regions. Still we loved the swimming pool and the local amenities and wish we came in the right season. There was just the one issue with the hot water but the hospitality of Dimitri was kind enough to explain and apologise. We hope that the bath and shower is fixed by now. Be sure to visit Kostas tavern and to roam further to enjoy your exploration of the island. We will be back for sure.”
