Belém is a microcosm of Lisbon's Age of Discovery history. First, we'll go to the statue of Christ the King to see the entire city of Lisbon. Then, we'll go to the Tower of Belém, which was once the last stop for ships before setting sail. Next, we'll go to the riverside to see the monument commemorating the Age of Discovery. After that, we'll enter the Jerónimos Monastery to appreciate the exquisite details of the Manueline architecture. Finally, we must go to the century-old shop to taste a freshly baked, still-warm Portuguese egg tart. This is the most soothing moment of the entire trip.
