“The place is amazing! It is a bit complicated to arrive, but once there it is beautiful. What we did was buy food at the open market before going up. You can arrive by boat from the port or tmb you can go by tricycle to where there is a road, from there you have to walk half an hour 40 minutes approximately by the beach and then climb 15 minutes until you reach the house. At 15 minutes there is also a restaurant that has cheap prices .. but it is more worth eating at the accommodation since it has a very good kitchen and everything you need to cook. There they have some foods to buy and they are also cheap but if you are more than two days you will not eat very varied. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, we arrived just after the typhoon which left them without light and they were working all day so we could have light the next day .. A place I would return to without a doubt ..”
The coconut tree house is located between Puerto Galera and Abra de Ilog. The village is called Udalo.
“Hi Jan! It was nice to see you before you left the PH. Thank you for the wonderful and extra ordinary hospitality that Ate Chanda and Kuya Noli provided for us. The place was beyond words, even though we coudn't swim because of the strong waves and rocky shore, still the serenity and the peacefulness of the place completes it. Just to point out some things that was beyond our control. We didn't expect that 16pax will be checking-in. So the place was a bit noisy, especially the "titas-of-manila". Considering the coconut tree house is in the middle of all the other accomodations, we were able to hear everything. It's just sad in our part. But, nontheless, it was a wonderful experience. TIPS for future guests: 1. If you will be cooking your own food, wet market is 10-15mins by tricycle, then go directly to sigman(200pesos) 2. Boat ride sigman to udalo (300-500), you can negotiate. 3. If you are looking for a good spot to swim, walk along the shoreline towards Tuko beach resort, you can find some great spots there. 4. Ate Chanda cooks delicious food. You can ask her to prepare meals for you for an affordable price. 5. They have a mini store. You can buy foods and drinks from there. 6. We tried walking from Jan's place to Sigman instead of taking the boat. It was a difficult walk due to extreme heat and rocky shore. We won't recommend it especially to those who aren't fit and fond of walking. 7. Enjoy the peace and quiet this place offers.”

“Rob and Necerita were exceptional hosts and they had such a lovely place. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay—we woke up to the most breathtaking views of the sea, we were surrounded by the lush greenery of the forest, and the place was so spacious, with lots of fresh air and natural light. It's not too far from the beach, we opted to take a tricycle everyday to get to it... it's only around 5-7 minutes away by tricycle, and it's very accessible as well. Rob was kind enough to arrange a pick-up service when we first arrived at the port in Puerto Galera, which made it very easy for us to find the place. He gave us a very warm and friendly greeting as he toured us around the place as soon as we arrived. His wife, Necerita was also a very gracious host, as she made sure we had everything we needed and we were comfortable and felt at home. I would definitely recommend you to stay at their place whenever you find yourself visiting Puerto Galera!”
