Our cabin in the woods is a great getaway if you’re looking for a peaceful place to relax. It’s off the grid and is roughing it in style. A small and quiet 2000 watt Honda generator provides electric for lights, charging your phone or laptop as well as a coffee maker, toaster or electric heater. It is easily accessible off I-69 on your way up north or 15 minutes south of I-94.
“We love love love this cozy little cabin! Exactly what we were looking for to get away from everything! Very clean and the bed was so comfy! We plan on returning very soon.”
Beautiful lake front lodging on Lake Bartholomew/Coldwater Lake Chain. We offer a detached two bedroom one bath guesthouse above the garage that sleeps 6-8 people comfortably. Great location right on the lake with over 300 feet of private lake shore, beautiful sandy beach, and large yard for plenty of entertainment. Wake up to the beautiful sunrise on the lake, spend your day on the lake boating, fishing, kayaking, playing a round of nearby golf or just relaxing by the water.
“Susan and Dean are very friendly, approachable, and eager to be helpful. Their place is on a beautiful lake. It was a delight to wake up and see the view from the bedroom windows each morning, and their place is very clean and up-to-date. I am very picky about the places we stay and this was definitely a 10. Thoroughly enjoyed being there, and the kids enjoyed using the Wi.”
Bluebird Trails B&B is a new apartment made in the upper level of my 1870's farmhouse on the rolling farmland of Hillsdale County. We are a lovely 20 minute drive down country roads to Hillsdale College. Sheep pasture the meadows, dotted with ponds. Guests are invited to accompany me in my daily shepherd activities, including herding with border collies, and to take nature walks. WiFi is SLOW. We are rural and cannot get cable or fast DSL, so we have satellite.
“It was a perfect haven to get away from the weekend. Even before entering the upstairs I could hear the birds singing, squirrels chattering and the sheep calling to each other. The view from the upper deck was picturesque. A large pond with pine and birch trees across the bank looked as though it was a living painting. There were so many vibrant red Cardinals and Bluejays that gathered in the trees near the home. After walking in the bedrooms looked so warm and cozy. The room I chose had a little wooden grandfather clock that was quietly ticking. Much to my surprise and delight there was a welcome not and homemade chocolate chip cookies! Everything was so clean and inviting. It was the best getaway I have had in years. The perfect retreat to recharge and explore nature. The trails are so serene to walk and the views are stunning. Emilie was the best hostess, she went above and beyond to ensure my stay was memorable and her blueberry muffins are out of this world! She happily welcomed me to join her to observe her and her well trained dogs work with the sheep. She made me feel so at home that I will definitely be back!”
