Kulau Lodge is located in Kabakada Village, 15min drive out of Rabaul along the North Coast Road and about 1hr45min from Tokua Airport. We have 9 terraced bungalows available. They are perfect for couples needing their own space and for families or a group of friends looking for a holiday home on the beach, out of town. Guests can enjoy snorkeling our house reef or nearby shipwreck, explore WWII tunnels or take a guided walk through the village. We also have a Restaurant & Bar onsite.
“Kulau is an oasis set on the north coast of New Britain. From the beach and the haus win, to the delicious food and the lovely condos, this place has it all. One day Leilani set up a tour with an excellent guide who took me around nearby Rabaul, from the top of Tavurvur volcano to the WWII relics. The next I spent snorkeling on the house reef. A wonderful way to spend a weekend in the Kokopo/Rabaul area.”
Travel back in time from SPACE-AGE to STONE-AGE. A Million Different Journeys In Just One Journey. Welcome to PAPUA NEW GUINEA (PNG). We are located in the Pacific. Our folks travelled from stone-age to space-age in the space of a lifetime, and these two worlds co-exist even today. We have many tags including ‘The Last Frontier’, ‘The Land of the Unexpected’, ‘The Pearl of the Pacific’, The Bird-watchers’ Paradise, Divers’ Paradise, and many others.
Our lovely apartment is set in lush gardens right in the heart of beautiful Kokopo town. Close to the market, shops and restaurants, it's the perfect base when visiting the capital of PNG's East New Britain Province. Suitable for families, friends or business travellers, you'll enjoy your home away from home.
“This was my second time staying at Jess's place and once again, everything was top notch. Great communication and extra local tips. Jess's family who live next door were always close by or available by phone when I had questions or needed advice on getting around town. The house itself is very clean, comfortable and well appointed. There is also a security guard at the gate all night, although this is just a precaution as Kokopo is a very friendly, safe place to walk around freely. I can't recommend Jess's place highly enough, if you're travelling to the Kokopo area. Don't waste your money on an expensive hotel!”
