  • Farm Tours and Alpaca Treks
Your visit begins with a meet up and quick safety briefing on how to interact with the Alpacas and Goats. Then it's off to the chicken yard where you’ll get a hands-on experience with our girls. We’ll talk about the rewards of raising backyard chickens. Collect some eggs to take home with you so you can have the freshest, most nutritious, delicious breakfast ever! Next we'll visit the goats. The goats will come when called and eat leaves from our hands. Everyone will have treats to offer the goats. There will be opportunities for pics all along the way. We'll then set off to our fluffy friends. Alpaca are gentle, friendly, wonderful creatures. You will be amazed at their incredible soft fleece and their large, expressive eyes which seem to exhibit both wisdom and childlike curiosity. Depending on time of day and the weather you may help bring alpaca to their fields to graze or help feed them their daily grain. Guests are welcome to go into the enclosures and interact with the Alpacas and Goats. All will be able to participate in farming activities which may include feeding, moving, or milking. Included in your tour is an “Alpaca Trek” A leisurely 1/2 mile walk across farmland and country roads(guest>7 yrs old). You'll be able to take some great alpaca selfies! Final stop is our farm store where you will have the opportunity to purchase some of our farm products.

  • Georgia Vineyards & Wine Tasting Tour
*If your desired date isn't available, ask me, it may be. This is the perfect experience if your celebrating a wedding, an anniversary, a birthday or any other reason you can think of. I'll meet you where you are staying, be your designated driver, area guide and your trip photographer. If time, weather and circumstances allow, we will make our way to a picturesque waterfall that we just drive up to. Then it's on to the first winery. We will eat a fabulous lunch at approximately 12:00 pm and do your first tasting. The views here are as spectacular as the wine. Our second winery has more of a large lodge feel to it. They have both covered and uncovered outdoor space with fires in the fireplace and fire pits when the weather calls for it. Their wines are highly acclaimed. Our third winery has more of a pub vibe going on. The views here are the best to be had. The friendliness of the staff and the spectacular selection of wine make this winery a cannot miss destination. Other things to note: Tastings and food are not included in the price since not everyone partakes and I'd hate to charge someone for something they don't want or worse yet, make someone think they have to drink. A 20% tip is requested. Cash or Venmo. Have breakfast and hydrate.

  • Blacksmithing & Brews
Blacksmithing & Brews Here’s your chance to experience the basics of shaping hot steel with a hammer and anvil in our unforgettable blacksmithing workshop. You’ll fire up the forge with our seasoned educator Mo, who’s been teaching hands-on living history at Earthshine for over sixteen years. He’ll guide you every step of the way, helping you work a piece of rough steel into a one of a kind, hand crafted knife form you can take home. You’ll stoke the coal fire, hammer glowing metal straight from forge, and learn all kinds of history, lore, techniques, and tricks about the craft. After the workshop, you can enjoy a local brew on the front deck of our main lodge overlooking Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can take it easy, soaking up the mountain views while you sip, or work on refining your knife to transform its rugged, fresh-out-of-the-fire look to a smoother, cleaner finish. (We’ll provide the tools!) No experience is needed and all equipment is provided. Ages 13+ are welcome, but you must be at least 21 to be served beer. If you’re under 21, we’ll provide root beer or sparkling water. Each person participating will take home their own wrought iron crude knife form that can be used as a letter opener or simple spreading utensil.

  • Sunset Trail Run at Black Balsam Knob
Join me at Black Balsam Knob for an epic 5ish-mile trail run you will never forget! We'll enjoy commanding 360-degree views from "bald" mountaintops lined with history, wildflowers, and of course - amazing views of that stretch as far as Tennessee, South Carolina, and even Georgia. I take TONS of photos, and I'll send them to you afterward to use as you'd like. Our route can be divided into 2 parts. First, we'll climb up the Art Loeb Trail over Black Balsam Knob, then Tennent Mtn., just above 6,000'. The views are nothing short of epic, and any local runner would agree that the area offers the best views of the sunset and sunrise in the region. The second portion of our loop follows a historic logging path, and is much more gradual and "runnable." Trail running experience is recommended, but we can also tackle this experience at a hiking pace, if running isn't your style. I'll provide water, snacks, and anything else you may need prior, and if you'd like to stick around for a cold beverage afterward - I'll bring a 6-pack of local brews from my friends at UpCountry Brewing. Non-alcoholic options are available as well. All paces, ages, and abilities are welcomed to book, even if you're traveling solo. Please reach out with any questions or date requests, or to inquire about my other running tour experiences I offer through White Dot Adventures.
