“Our annual canoe trip got rained out this year so we decided to book this cabin at the last minute. What a sweet spot! The cabin is private and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Bathroom is a clean vault toilet short walk from the cabin. Path is well lit at night. The hosts provide drinking water, bbq, firewood, linens etc. and are super quick to answer questions. Richard stopped in to show us around shortly after we arrived. We had a relaxing four days here. Highlights were canoeing over to Restoule park beach, watching humming birds on the porch, and spending time swimming or fishing from the dock. Would love to visit again!”

For a day or a week this fully off grid cottage right on the South River is a perfect option. 5kms outside of town. While this cottage is fully off grid, there are plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable. Including power from our solar panels, drinkable water, hot showers, propane heat for cold nights, a stove, bbq and cooler with ice. We live just minutes away and can help with any questions.
“We were looking for somewhere off the grid where we could bring our dogs as well. I’ve been to south river before so I knew what to expect from the small town and what the roads are like where Mike’s place is located. Even still I managed to miss the entrance and had to backtrack. The house was clean and was perfect for our needs. We brought our own battery operated radio to use but there was a tv and DVD player but we weren’t there to watch movies. There’s a fire pit and a bbq and basically no one around. The propane heater does a great job of heating up the house and kept us warm on the cold nights. We would definitely stay there again if we are up that way, it is a lovely little spot with wonderful hosts.”
