A charming heritage cottage. Originally a fisherman's cottage, one of the first built on Kangaroo Island during the 1800's. It is a self contained, self check in property surrounded by beautiful gardens and within walking distance to the seaside village of Kingscote, the Jetty and Historic Reeves point, Shoal Bay.

The space
Inside this boutique 3 bedroom cottage you will find all you need to relax and enjoy your stay on Kangaroo island. Quality linen and towels are included (guests to bring their own beach towels).
The open plan living, kitchen and dining area leads out through French doors onto the large patio covered by a pergola, sunny, sheltered and private you can enjoy alfresco dining.
Full kitchen and cooking facilities are provided, including a BBQ. You are welcome to use fresh herbs for your cooking from the garden including Rosemary, Oregano and mint to name a few. Fresh Lemons and peaches are available during their fruiting season.
Take time out and relax in the luxury claw foot bath or keep it cosy by the wood fire on a winter's night. Hand and body soap is provided along with fresh stock of tea, coffee, sugar, salt /pepper, washing powder.

Haven cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway or holiday with family or friends, Its location makes it a great place to base yourself to explore all that Kangaroo Island has to offer.
High chair and porta cot available on request. Please bring your own baby cot linen.

Late check out or early check in may be available on request subject to availability.

Guest access
Guest have access to the entire cottage. Through the front gates there is enough space to park up to 4 cars. There is a sandpit for the kids and a secure front lawn and gardens. A laundry room with a tub and washing machine is available outside near the clothesline.
No access to the garden shed.
The cottage is a self check in property for your convenience, so you are able to check in when it suits your travel plans.

Other things to note
Firewood is provided free of charge over the cooler months from April to October. Limited kindling and firelighters is provided, should you require more during your stay they can be purchased from the local fuel stations in Kingscote.

Kingscote is South Australia's oldest European settlement.
The islands rich history is displayed in the Hope cottage museum north of the town. The Old Mulberry Tree at Reeves Point was planted in 1836 and still bears fruit. Reeves Point has been placed on the Australian Heritage Places List and its a great place to watch beautiful sunsets over Shoal Bay.
Kingscote has all the town amenities you need, including supermarket, Fuel outlets, pharmacy, hospital, banks, restaurants and cafes, gift shops, Day Spa, local art and craft.
Enjoy freshly made scones and local honey at The Island Beehive cafe. The island Beehive cafe is family friendly, has a great range of gifts, toys, gourmet foods and the cafe has a play area for the kids.
Enjoy alfresco dining and fantastic local pizza at Bella Restaurant
Ocean view dining at the Aurora Ozone Hotel Restaurant and schnitzel night special at the Queenscliffe hotel (bookings essential)
Kingscote has a tidal swimming pool, extensive wharf and jetty enjoyed by many locals.
Kangaroo island is known to be the jewel in the South Australian tourism crown. It is the third largest island off the coast of mainland Australia, Kangaroo Island is more than a day-trip destination.
Visitors to the island enjoy stunning landscapes such as the Flinders Chase national Park, including the Remarkable rocks, Pristine beaches and coastlines, australian wildlife, fine wines and artwork.
Its fast becoming a gourmet food destination, traditional lamb, seafood, famous ligurian bee honey, free range eggs, sheep milk cheeses, marron, berries, olive oil, wine and a range of different grains.
Kangaroo Island Spirits is the states first boutique distillery producing premium Gin, Vodka and Liqueurs, located 10 minutes out of Kingscote its worth a visit.
