Nestled in the peaceful and wooded neighborhood of Yosemite West, this (recently listed) modern 2 bedroom mountain home is located inside Yosemite’s gates. No park entrance reservation required when staying at Juniper. Centrally located directly between all Yosemite main attractions. less than 30 minutes from the valley floor, Glacier Point, Mariposa Grove Giant Sequoias & Wawona. Outfitted for comfort and function; fully stocked kitchen, Strong AC, heat, Starlink internet, Smart TV, Deck w/ BBQ
The space
Juniper Retreat is a rare gem - a privately-owned home inside Yosemite National Park! Don’t just visit Yosemite, move into a real home for a while and experience Yosemite like a local! Skip the long drive from a gateway town and the lines at the entrance station - at Juniper Retreat you’re centrally located inside the park making this an ideal home base for all of your Yosemite adventures. When the park entrance reservation system is active, a reservation at a rental inside the park, such as Juniper Retreat, will serve in place of a reservation.
Come home to comfort and convenience at the end of your day of adventure and enjoy a good night's sleep in the 2 king size beds (with brand new in 2024 Tuft & Needle mattresses). The house has lots of natural light and a great deck for stargazing or morning coffee. At 6000 feet this house stays cooler in the summer and can easily be fine-tuned for your comfort with the effective and efficient mini-split heating and AC unit with individual dispensers in the common space and each bedroom. The home is also fully equipped with towels, linens and cookware. I love to cook, and always appreciate a rental with a well-appointed kitchen. I’ve taken care to select quality cookware and have made sure the kitchen has everything you could need, whether heating up some prepared food or baking from scratch. The furnishings are largely from IKEA, this is not a luxury unit, I've put my time and energy into comfort and function; comfortable beds, fast internet, EV charging, well stocked kitchen and so on.
There is another rental unit directly above this one. All of your space is separate including the covered deck, with the exception of the parking area. You will not need to interact with other guests, but please be aware you’ll likely hear footfalls and other sounds from the renters in the unit above. I’ve taken great care to soundproof between the units and I have not had complaints about noise from the unit above but it’s something for you to be aware of in order to create the proper expectation for your experience.

Other things to note
Groceries: You may consider getting groceries at one of the gateway towns before you get into Yosemite for more selection and better prices. Bring a cooler and ice to keep groceries cold on the drive in.
Coffee: A drip coffee maker and coffe are provided
Media & Streaming: There is no TV service at this unit, however there is Wi-Fi internet and a good video library and a smart TV where you may log into your own streaming services.
Cell Service: There is decent cell phone service at this house, which is not the standard for Yosemite West, you’ll see that most rentals do not have cell phone service. If the signal is not strong enough to suit your needs you can also connect to the Wi-Fi for Wi-Fi calling.
Internet Service: Due to the remote location Starlink Internet is the standard for Yosemite West, however the wooded landscape can create occasional gaps in service. I can generally stream Netflix and live sports but occasional service disruptions of a second or two are possible. Please be aware this could cause variations in live video performance in particular.
Critters & Pests: I have not had mice or chipmunks get into the house since it was built, and there really is no way for them to get in other than leaving the front door open, so please be mindful of the door. Beyond that the only pets you may encounter would be ants, spiders or other insects. However, I have a regular pest control service and rarely see any little friends in the house but since this is a rural area there’s always a chance you’ll run into some wildlife of any size.
