A truly beautiful cabin. Perfect size for close family and friends. Really great design. Kim's communication is perfect. You'd be lucky to stay here for a Packwood weekend getaway.

Lovely cabin in a nice area with a grocery store and a few restaurants. Very grateful for the wifi as there's no cell service. Would definitely stay here again!

Kim is an EXCELLENT host!! She was always available when needed!! The house is cozy, comfortable and very rustic... perfect for a quiet stay or an adventure to the mountains! It was the most beautiful setting for my son and I, who had to extend our trip to Seattle because Hurricane Harvey kept us from returning home to Houston. With a last minute decision to head out to Mt. Rainier, Kim was warm and welcoming which made our trip that much more amazing!! Everything was clean, the showers were hot and the beds were super comfortable! After a long day's hike, it was great to come back and relax! Like I said, the cabin is very rustic which is perfect for anyone needing a break from the busyness and chaos day to day life can bring! We will definitely choose to stay here again when we have more time to plan out our trip a little more. Thanks Kim!!

This cabin is nice and in a beautiful location. The twin beds are uncomfortable, but the easy accessibility to hiking Mount Rainer makes up for that. Unfortunately, communication with the host is not so great. If you book this cabin please make sure to read the profile very carefully and have all communication in writing, do not bother call the host. We had a misunderstanding about the cost of additional guests, and immediatly was confronted with hostile mistrust. Our honesty did not matter, we were completely at fault right away and charged for it. The unprofessional way our interactions were handled was greatly disappointing. I have never had a dispute with a host on Airbnb and wish that people were rational and understanding. I would not book this cabin again for fear of being accused of something I did not do and because when on vacation, I don't want to be mistrusted or have drama after the fact and be charged extra. I would recommend finding another cabin, where the host/owners are not looking to make a dollar if given any slight chance.

Response from Kim (Timberline Pines):
I have been hosting vacation rentals in Packwood for 10+ years, you can read my reviews and judge for yourself. Communication works both ways. I am not a mind reader and need the guests to let me know of their intentions. I believe any change in a reservation should be in writing to protect both parties. Sara's reservation was for three people. We kindly allowed Sara to check out late for no additional fee. Imagine my surprise when I arrived 15-20 after her late checkout time to find 8+ people standing in the driveway. I told Sara I would discuss with the home owner and get back to her and left it at that. After speaking with the cabin owner, due to Sara's confusion we only requested one half of the additional charge for the extra unexpected guests. We felt that this was a fair resolution. Which Sara agreed to pay. All in all, it appeared that Sara and her friends had a great time, so I don't think this really impacted their stay. Respectfully, Kim

If you are looking for a comfortable quiet place to stay while exploring the local parks, this is it. Everything you would needs available and well explained. There is also an awesome deck that we ate breakfast on every morning. Although we were only two people it could comfortable sleep a family with no problem as well. Highly recommended!

I stayed here with six friends for a birthday trip to Mt. Rainier. Metsker's Meadow was comfortable and fit all of our needs perfectly. We had plenty of space to eat, spread out among the couches, or hang out on the deck. This is very much a ski focused cabin, but still works well in the summer. There are plenty of lovely personal touches like a guestbook (that goes back 10 years!) and plenty of decor that makes the difference with this cabin. We all had a lovely time, and would definitely return. If you're looking for privacy, alas this cabin's sleeping arrangements don't really allow for that,as a tip. Also, during the summer, be sure to bring bug spray, as we had some bites while sitting on the deck during the summer evening.

This house is big and comfortable. It is very quiet, perfect for vacation. The owner did a fantastic job of decorating it. You could look at each small art work for a long time. We enjoyed it.

Hi, my husband and I left the big city and moved to our vacation home in the woods. Come see the beautiful Pacific Northwest volcano country and see why we made the switch. We love the outdoors, skiing, hiking, relaxing by the creek.

Packwood sits in the shadow of Mt. Rainier and is a quaint little town with a grocery store, 2 gas stations, a pizza place, a fun bar and an amazing burger place with Elk and Buffalo burgers.

We would love to have you stay in any of our beautiful cabins, all located in the Timberline Community. We started out with just two cabins and some of our neighbors asked us to manage their cabins. We call our little business Timberline Pines. So, you have a choice of five different cabins now. Our small guest house, Coal Creek A-Frame (a cozy place for a couple), Grizzly Tower if you have a larger group, Alpine Annie's perfect for a small family, Bear Lodge right on the creek, and Metsker's Meadow for up to 8 guests. We hope you'll consider one of our cabins on your next visit to Mt. Rainier, or for a weekend of skiing at White Pass in the winter.

All of our cabins are just minutes from Mt. Rainier National park where you'll find a wonderful visitors center, the beautiful Paradise Lodge (stop in for lunch or brunch) and of course great hiking and sightseeing.

Summertime is best for wildflowers and warm weather hikes. We have two fun flea markets in Packwood, one on Memorial day weekend and one on Labor day weekend. You'll find just about anything you can imagine.

In the fall, we like to wander around in the forest and pick Chanterelle mushrooms and would be happy to show you our secret spots to find them.

Winter brings rain to the lowlands and snow to the mountains! While we don't typically get a lot of snow here, it does happen and creates a winter wonderland for building a snow man or having a snowball fight, or just a great walk. We are avid skiers and you can race us to the first chair at White Pass when the conditions are good.

White Pass is our local ski area, a short 20 minute drive from any of our cabins. White Pass is incredibly family friendly with short lift lines and GREAT snow.

Come play with us year round in beautiful Volcano Country!
