Welcome to the LOFT - A private, eclectically designed spa-inspired unique stay in the historic Webb Schoolhouse, less than an hour from Toronto. Featured in TORONTO LIFE in 2021, this private loft includes a sauna, unique hanging bed, wood stove, kitchenette and is filled with art, and huge tropical plants as well as a projector & giant screen for epic movie nights. Relax and recharge, roam the grounds and enjoy the beautiful outdoor spaces, the permaculture farm, animals, and fire pit.

The space
This historic LOFT was once the gymnasium of the Webb Schoolhouse, built in 1924 by local farm families. It sits on a 2 acre organic permaculture homestead in the spectacular rolling hills of rural Uxbridge, and the Oak Ridges Moraine Greenbelt.

The Loft includes a private entrance, sauna and full bathroom, a cozy wood stove and a kitchenette, with no shortage of ways to relax or work remotely, or inspire creativity. It also includes Wi-Fi and a giant projector screen for cozy movie nights. PLEASE BRING A LAPTOP TO MAKE USE OF THE SCREEN.

There's plenty of room to spread out for yoga, dancing or stretching and there are mats, floor cushions and djembe to help make that happen.

You are invited to tour our outdoor spaces and roam around the grounds and engage with homestead life as much or as little as you like. The property features a 3,000sq ft productive greenhouse, a barn that houses Alpacas, an assortment of chickens and ducks (and three very friendly barn cats), as well as a young fruit orchard and food forest. Please ask for a tour. You may also opt for an evening by the fire pit under the stars.

As the "Trail Capital of Canada" Uxbridge has no shortage of spectacular options for outdoor lovers, cyclists and skiers alike. Please see our guidebook in this listing for ideas on some great activities, amazing dining and entertainment.

Neighbourhood highlights

Our area offers SO many relaxing things to do in nature we hardly know where to begin and it's all around the corner. Have a look at our guidebook for ideas on what's available to do and where you can eat & play.

There are unbelievable hiking trails all around (Uxbridge is Canada's Trail Capital), and arguably the finest road and mountain biking Ontario has to offer, not to mention downhill and cross country skiing, horseback riding, and world class golf.

Uxbridge also offers some tremendous dining and entertainment options. Local farm to table dining, craft breweries, wineries and a cidery. And don't miss our local independent movie theater - The Roxy! You can also find adrenaline at our nearby famous go-kart track.
But for those who simply want to breathe in nature and listen to the birds sing, you're here.

My biography title: Adventures In Your Own Backyard
We traded our suburban existence in for a new country life on a beautiful organic permaculture farm in a one-of-a-kind former schoolhouse. We are passionate about continuing and sharing the vision we inherited; building a sustainable and productive homestead, connecting to nature, re-wilding ourselves, and slowing down to enjoy the simple pleasures, like growing our own food and enjoying a glass of wine by the crackle and warmth of a woodstove
