Hotel Jansen is a new Short Stay hotel in Amsterdam. We offer great and affordable accommodation for students, graduates, interns & young professionals from all over the world. Hotel Jansen is a place you can call home. You can also find us online.

The space

Each room in Hotel Jansen is unique. It is approximately 18m2 and has a private bathroom with shower and amenities. There's a super comfortable bed (1.40 m wide) with a hotel quality mattress, pillows and duvet. There's a great desk and a small pantry with fridge, Nespresso machine and water cooker.

Guest access

The rooms in Hotel Stay are located on the Ground Floor, where also Mama's Kitchen is a based. Mama’s is the place to be for grabbing a bite and meeting up with friends or just hanging out in friendly surroundings. Mama’s is a hybrid of sorts: it is the entrance and heart of Hotel Jansen Amsterdam where we welcome our guests, it’s the place where great food is served and where everybody knows your name. Mama’s is always cheerful, and adjusts to the rhythm of her guests. Mama’s also caters for the neighbourhood and welcomes all like-minded people. At Mama’s you’ll always feel welcome. You’ll feel right at home.

Interaction with guests

A home away from home. That's how we like to describe Hotel Jansen. Every day we do our best to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests, who usually stay for several weeks or months and come from all over the world. We are that place where nobody has to make concessions on location, comfort, space or price. A place that not only offers a great bed, plenty of opportunities to meet new people and the obvious Wi-Fi, but also a place that has a true soul.

Other things to note

All rooms and floors are unique, with hand crafted furniture and art that are designed by a collective of Dutch artists and carpenters. This makes Hotel Jansen unique and sustainable.

Even though we encourage everyone to do as they please, staying at Hotel Jansen comes with rules and responsibilities. There are hundreds of ways to present, describe and enforce house rules, but we believe a bit of common sense goes a long way. We only ask that you respect the building, your room, the staff and your fellow residents. We are an easygoing, laid-back crowd, but don't mistake our niceness for weakness. We know from experience that 99% of the times people respect the House Rules and the atmosphere is great; however unfortunate incidents sometimes do happen. So we are super strict when you dó misbehave. Not because we want to patronize you, but because we want Hotel Jansen to be a safe and comfortable place for everybody. That's why we will tackle issues and incidents promptly and with immediate consequences.

We were welcomed despite a bit of a late arrival, and despite a few computer troubles were checked in. After a quick tour we settled in our room - pretty decorations & all. The location is not very central, but was perfect for the olympic stadium & our marathon weekend. The Atelier restaurant nearby is amazing!

the worst experience in my travel, when I came to the hotel,no person told me where to live,I called the phone many times, but received no response. The money is unredundble,so I have to find a guest help me find another staff,he opened the door of one house but did not gave me the key. He did not know where is my house. So he let us live in the random house and said we dont need to pay other fee. I asked him for 3 times,he confirmed it is free. When I came into the house, there is a very strange smell in the house which made me uncomfortable. And on the next day, another staff ask me to pay for the extra fee. I told her the situation. But she said it is impossible. It is cheating! The experience made me have a very bad impression of Amsterdam.

Response from Geraldine:
It's a shame how things sometimes go and how a stay is perceived. Where we can possibly improve the experience we will and when we are to blame we are the first to admit it. However, in this case Lei's reaction is not fair. First of all Lei arrived after opening hours, so our night guard had to let her in. In itself that's not a problem (we're easy going), but Lei came with three people whilst the room only had a double bed (she was well aware of that after explicitly calling us about it before she arrived). The only solution was to give her another room for the third person, considering the time of day. We find it a bit strange that Lei expected this room to be free of charge: when you book a double room and you come with three people it's not strange that it doesn't fit? We tried to find a solution that was obviously not appreciated. Next time we'll be more explicit. We're sorry Lei about how you perceived it, but please be welcome next time.

Todo muy limpio, lindo y acorde con lo prometido. Muy amables para darme la bienvenida. Me pareció un poco alejado del centro de la ciudad, aunque eso compensa por la tranquilidad de la zona.

Posto accogliente, ambiente giovanile e amichevole, personale gentile e socievole.Siamo stati per una settimana, non è proprio al centro di Amsterdam, ma con i mezzi o in bici si raggiunge il centro in 15 minuti.Bella esperienza ;)
