RIGHT ON DIVISION ST, steps from Carleton College, shopping, bars/nightlife, and the river- rent a 100+ year-old, BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED, 1/1 unit- complete with wood floors, grand high-ceilings, & lg picture windows peering out at historic Northfield.
THE PERFECT PLACE TO WRITE A NOVEL IN- this open and airy apartment with loft-style pipes venting the A/C under the 11-foot ceilings, with old-windows, and original hardwood floors, centered in a town overflowing with history, is atmosphere at its best.
The 2ND FLOOR UNIT has a PRIVATE ENTRANCE and STAIRCASE, the entry to which is just large enough to store a bicycle. A FULL KITCHEN (with a DISHWASHER, and ALL DISHES AND UTENSILS) opens to a small dining area and OPEN LIVING ROOM-- complete with CABLE TV (flat screen), and a fold-out FULL-SIZED SOFA BED. Smaller adjacent rooms contain: a mid-sized bathroom with TUB AND SHOWER, rear utility room with WASHER AND DRYER, and a master bedroom boasting a QUEEN-SIZED platform bed and MEMORY-FOAM MATTRESS. The unit as a whole washes in light from the 8-foot tall picture windows that look out onto historic Division Street every afternoon.
There is no breakfast included with this rental, but the unit is directly above a bagel shop and next door to a (VERY GOOD AND RECOMMENDED) coffee shop. Roughly 10-12 restaurants are within the immediate vicinity (on Division St/side/surrounding), and another 15-20 are less than a 5 min drive, or 15 min bike ride.
Street parking is necessary, however, excluding Jessie James Days (in early September) or during any "sporadic" large community events, finding a spot within a block of the unit is rarely difficult. Permit free parking is available on most side streets and a free public parking lot is directly behind the building.
Guests have access to the entire apartment- this is not a "shared living arrangement". That includes all kitchen utensils and the washer/dryer inside the unit.
Interaction with guests
I currently live/travel between 3 different states for work. This is where I live when in Minnesota, and if it is being rented, I am elsewhere. However, Keller Williams, two doors down from the unit entrance, can assist renters with any needs they have during their stay.
1- This is a NON-SMOKING apartment.
2-ONLY H/E DETERGENT CAN BE USED IN THE WASHING MACHINE.
3- Please leave the residence as you found it. All dishes used must be washed and replaced in the cabinet.
4- We ask that you throw all used towels into the washer and start the load before you leave.
5- All of the other used linens need to be placed- in one pile- on the floor of the bedroom.
6- (few) NOISE CONSIDERATIONS- The apartment is in a commercial district and above a bagel store, so noise is rarely an issue. Still, we ask you be respectful of the neighboring apartments and not-- for a completely hypothetical example-- blast music at top volume with the windows open at midnight... etc...
7- Street Parking is necessary (but usually available within a block of the unit).
8- RELAX and live an INSPIRED LIFE as much as possible during your STAY :)
****AN IMPORTANT NOTE: TV/Internet service is being installed. Until that wait is over (should be completed by 2/25/16), wireless internet is available in the coffee shop and bagel shops below the unit.
