After staying at this apartment, I had some mixed impressions leaning to the worse side. When Alex was showing me around, he complained that the previous guests were not very tidy. When I said that I'd do my best, his response was "Yeah, yeah, you all say that". However fed up you are with the previous guests, this is not how you talk to the newly arrived person. This conversation made an extremely bad impression.
The host informed me upon arrival that the dryer is not available because it needs repair. Considering that the availability of washer and dryer was one of the decisive factos in choosing this place, this was very unfortunate. Somebody came to repare it, but apparently I still could not use it afterwards (which again I did not learn at once). Also, there was absolutely no information present about the price for the use of the washer and dryer anywhere around the apartment. I learned that I had to pay extra for it after I moved out. Luckily, there is an option of paying for the services through Airbnb. Also, I would like to comment on the price I paid for the use of the washer & dryer. When I was living in one of the most expensive places in the US, the laundry at the laundromat case around 5 dollars for washing and drying each in the machines that could fit both of my suitcases in a single cycle. In a place where I live right now, a cycle in a washer or dryer (twice the capacity of Alex's) costs 1.5 dollars (again, this is in the US). Considering this, the price of 30 leva (~$18) in Bulgaria for the use of this facility is unreasonable to say the least.
Though Alex did notify my that there will be someone coming to look at the dryer, he gave me a wrong time and did not bother to give me extra info whenever he figured that it was wrong. I arranged to do something in the city in the initial time discussed, and basically shortly after I came back hoping to relax, the man fixing the dryer came, and I had neither peace nor privacy. Also, Alex's refusal to understand that a person might need her privacy at 8 am in the morning for whatever reasons and that is a person does not answer she might have some reasons for that she doesn't want to share was extremely annoying to say the least.
In general, I chose to pay more for renting a whole apartment to have some extra privacy and peace, which did not happen at all. Though the place itself was nice, certain things described above left an extremely bad impression on me and made me feel like it was not worth the money at all (especially considering the 30 lv washer/dryer fee). I wish I have chosen a different place
