A beautiful two bedroom apartment in central Madrid, an easy walk to the Prado. Full of original art, and Scandi mid century. Located on the same street as Museo de Reina Sofia, this 19th century flat has high moulded and beamed ceilings, two large bathrooms, 8 balconies, washer/dryer.
A corner building dating back to the 19th century, the apartment is on the second floor, and there is no elevator. Once you arrive you will find a beautiful high ceilinged lounge with moulded ceilings and four balconies, perfect for sharing a glass of Cava or Rioja as you watch la marcha below in one of Madrid's most characteristic neighbourhoods. There is fast WIFI, two very large bathrooms with original encaustic tile floors. And the entire apartment is tastefully furnished, and curated with original art. You are a stone's throw from the Mercado of Anton Martin, with the best sushi in madrid (Yokaloka, get there by 8pm as it is mad popular). You are eight minutes on foot from the Thyssen Collection, 6 minutes from Reina Sofia, 15 from the Prado, and just a bit more from the Retiro, Madrid's legendary formal park. Madrid is not a quiet town, it is a late town, and the flat is in the middle of one of the more animated neighbourhoods. There is no noise from traffice however, just from festejeros out for a good time.
Access to all the space with the exception of a single glass cupboard where porcelain is stored.

Other things to note
Anton Martin is a lively part of town, much much livelier than Salamanca, or Moncloa, etc, which are virtually dead at night. For this reason it is very very safe. You have the Mercado de Anton Martin, arguably the last real market in Central Madrid that has not been converted (yet) into a tourist trap. Note that some bars open until past midnight on the weekends. It is rarely very loud, but it is not Omaha Nebraska quiet either. The flat is a walkup on the second floor, and the street entrance is quite basic. As I said this is not Salamanca; nor does it want to be.
There is a no shoes rule in the lounge as there is an 8 metre Beni Ourain on the floor that is of great sentimental value. I think you will find it very comfy without your shoes on the rug.
