Year around, it's a great place. But now? Can you say "hiking through Fall colors?" Guests say this is a super family-friendly home because 3 stories provides separate "fun zones." Kids love commanding the bottom floor while adults entertain upstairs. This very private, passive solar architectural wonder sits atop a mountain between Murphys wine tasting and Bear Valley Ski Resort near Big Trees Park and the Stanislaus River. Secluded, non-suburban feel.

We vacationed with another family--4 kids total--and had a great time. The cabin is well suited for larger groups. And it's in a good location for exploring Big Trees State Park and and playing at Lake Alpine.

We had to make a last minute change to our itinerary because Yosemite Valley was closed. This was a nice alternative. We particularly enjoyed hiking the South Grove of the nearby Big Trees State Park. The drive over Ebbetts Pass was spectacular.

Response from David:
The Ebbetts Pass is indeed a spectacular, and little know delight only open during non winter months.

Clean, quiet & relaxing. David was such an attentive host on our last visit we decided to return again this year. His restaurant & activity recommendations are so helpful and thoughtful, his response time to any questions is lighting speed! Looking forward to next year’s visit!

I find sharing my homes and nature's bounty in this part of the Sierras tremendously rewarding. Lifelong musician, furniture maker, designer-remodeler, photographer, food and wine enthusiast looking for adventure and interesting people.
