The space
This is one of five quaint rental opportunities on a magnificently rebuilt Old Naples Cottage Estate, built in c. 1910. We are two blocks from the Gulf of Mexico and Naples Pier and within walking distance of everything 5th Avenue and 3rd Street South have to offer.
Cottage A is nestled behind the Monarch Butterfly Migration Station. Enter the grounds via the white-shelled path to your patio and front door. Unlock the space via a keypad lock.
The main room has high ceilings and a fan above the queen bed. Two windows face the driveway, and one faces Gordon Drive via the front garden. The windows have white wooden shades that allow light in and provide privacy when closed. The HVAC system includes air conditioning and heat throughout.
Stepping inside the room from the porch, you will find a comfortable reading chair on your left and a small desk with a chair on your right. The television is mounted above, allowing you to view it from the comfy chair and the queen bed. Two side tables with drawers and lights sit beside the queen bed. A stylish bench at the foot of the bed allows you to store your shoes under it and leave your things on top. In the far corner is a closet with extra linens and supplies. Past guests have commented that the cottage is well-stocked with beach supplies, extra blankets, pillows, umbrellas, an iron and a board, plus two luggage racks for you.
An open and arched doorway leads from the front bedroom to a second room that acts as the living room and kitchen. A loveseat, also a pullout sofa, has a low coffee table in front and two side tables for drinks and lights in an alcove. A window looks out to the butterfly garden and Gordon Drive. A beautiful cabinet on the wall outside the bathroom holds your things.
The kitchenette runs along two walls opposite the sofa and coffee table. White marble counters on both sides of the deep silver sink make the space pop. Standing at the sink, you have room on the right and left to prepare your meals. Floating wooden shelves above the sink hold white ceramic dishes. A window allows you to look out of it, enabling views of the green courtyard and white shelled pathways.
The white cabinets above and below add to the scene and provide storage. A full-sized fridge is tucked into a nook. This kitchenette does not have a stove or dishwasher. Cottage
A does not have laundry facilities on or off the property
The bathroom has a new grey vanity with one sink and a white porcelain top. A large mirror and light above give the space a nautical feel. The newly tiled, glassed-in shower is stunning. We have a wooden shower seat that is a nice accent point, plus handy.
You have one parking spot in our driveway. Enter the property through an archway covered in bougainvillea vines, and follow the shell path to your patio.
Note -
**Cottage A and B are attached under one roof line. The porches are adjacent, but not shared. In our pictures, you can see that Cottage A is on the right and Cottage B is on the left.
**Construction has been ongoing across the street from us for the past eight or so years. The building phase was most active in the last two seasons. I wondered, 'What do you do when living near a construction site?' The answer was to use noise machines and earplugs. I stocked them and lowered the nightly price. I use the VRBO Market Price Tool to set the nightly price.
**Guests, of course, would rather not have construction, but saying that, we still have 5-star reviews and reports that the construction happens until 3/4 p.m. and not on weekends. As we are so close to the beach, Old Naples, and the National Parks and Everglades, there is enough to do to avoid construction hours. The rest of 2025 and the 2026 season will bring the construction work inside this boutique hotel and the shopping area in its courtyard.
Guest access
We are set on the corner lot of 180 Broad Avenue S. and 1160/1170 Gordon Drive, so you can't miss us. Enter the crescent-shaped driveway via Gordon Drive and park parallel to the white picket fence that encircles our monarch butterfly garden.
After parking on the left side of the driveway, facing Broad Avenue S, walk through the bougainvillea-covered archway and follow the shelled path directly to the left. You will see a small front porch with a quaint table, two chairs, and your private entrance to Cottage A.
A keypad allows you access.

Other things to note
Read and Agree
-We have written out the contract with the Properties Rules to ensure all guests in the five rentals are on the same page.
-We will assume that you have agreed to and will follow these property rules.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if something seems amiss. Our outstanding team cares about this property and your stay, and we want you to be happy.
- No smoking anything on or in the property
- Quiet Hours: 10 pm to 8 am
- No Subleasing
- No Pets on or in the property
- Shared Spaces on the Property
The shared spaces are the driveway, the carport with the grill, and the trash boxes. The outdoor grass areas are shared.
There are five parking spots, and each rental has one spot. Please park strategically on the left side, close enough to fit all five yet far enough away to let others access their trunks.
- The contract is with the person on Airbnb and myself. Please let me know how many are staying over, and understand that you will be responsible for their actions.
Fear of Animals
- Due to a long-term guest request to honor their fear of animals, we ask guests not to bring their animals to the property or to host anyone else's.
Long Term Stays
- If you are staying long-term, please let us know if you are leaving the Cottage overnight. We will let our caretaker know in case of any weather.
Internet
- Comcast/Exfinity is our internet provider, but we do not have cable boxes to connect to live television.
I use a Surf/Arries Router and Erro Modem. The Erro app allows me to see what is working and what is not in real time and to reset it.
- The white square box with white lights is the Erro Extender. If it comes unplugged, could you plug it in? The light will change colors until they are online again.
Smart Televisions /No Cable Subscription
- I have discovered that stating that we have smart televisions does not convey that we do not have a cable subscription. Guests have continued to watch their favorite shows and sports events by signing into their home Hulu, YouTube, and Peacock subscriptions or signing up for trials with FuBu or Tubi.
Trash and Recyclable Sorting
- If our cleaners and trash removal team have to touch your trash, you will be charged.
All trash and recycling must be placed in bags; loose trash may not be thrown in the trash bins.
