Cozy private 2 bedroom cottage set back on a PEI dirt road in Oysterbed, located in the popular north shore area- Close to Brackley National Park (and the beach!) Exactly in the middle between Charlottetown and Cavendish.
Enjoy the view, stargazing and watch the eagles, osprey and kingfishers successfully diving for fish each day. A unique attraction right from the cottage deck!

The space
However this cozy cottage is still close to everything it kind of feels like you dropped in the middle of nature, a 650 meter dirt road brings you from the top of a hill down to the water. There is no light pollution from the city, it is super quiet because there are no traffic noises and all other cottages are privately owned.
Doesn't it sound like a dream? The cottage features a nicely sized deck in the front with a set of table and chairs, bbq and a relaxing lounge set. There is a place close to the water to make a bonfire to roast s'mores.
This is also a place that is great for kayakers. The water is very shallow which allows for easy access. Please wear a good set of closed water shoes. Yes, it is muddy.

The comfortable open concept living room features a smart TV and games (there is NO cable television). You are free to login on your entertainment services. There are two queen bedrooms directly of the living room.
A rustic kitchen fully equipped with full stove/coffee maker/microwave, dishwasher and full sized fridge.
Of the kitchen there is a bathroom with a shower/bath, toilet, sink and laundry appliances.

We provide clean linen, towels, shampoos, detergent, basic kitchen essentials, propane and then a basic supply of toilet paper, paper towel, coffee and tea.

The cottage is heated with electric baseboard heathers and there are ceiling fans for during the summer.

We have wifi available however this might be slower than you are used to at home. This is one of the con's of going rural!

Guest access
From up Crooked creek rd you can follow Macpherson lane down. The cottage has a private driveway, there will be a lockbox with key on the deck to enter the cottage.
The time of arrival is after 5 pm. I realize this is late, but because of that we allow a check-out of noon.
We have so many cottages to clean so unfortunately one of them has to suffer a late check-in time.

Other things to note
The cottage is in a small sub-division, on a dirt road. The maintenance of the road is not ours to do, but we are fully aware of the shape it is in sometimes and do our best to keep it safe. Specially when there is lots of rain.
In the early spring or fall you may want to consider to bring or rent a SUV.

We don’t allow pets in this cottage.

Oyster Bed, Prince Edward Island, Canada

The green gables shore area is a spectacular piece of Prince Edward Island’s acclaimed scenic landscape composed of red sandstone cliffs, white sand beaches and rolling farm fields. Some of the classic coastline has been protected in PEI National Park, which hugs the north shore in this area. Cavendish Grove is a lovely recent addition to the Park, featuring walking trails, picnic grounds and a stand of sugar maples.

Golfers have a hard decision to make since Green Gables Shore has more than 11 courses located just minutes apart. For family fun, spending time in Cavendish is a must-do. There are amusement parks, mini golf, water slides and restaurants that cater to all ages and tastes.
Just down the road, in North Rustico, adventure seekers can choose from kayaking, canoeing or deep-sea fishing. Give in to the lure of the sea and head out onto the ocean for a fresh perspective of the stunning coastline.
To awaken your spiritual side, be sure to take in The Indian River Festival Fine Music Series. It takes place at St. Mary’s Church, the largest wooden church on PEI, and its incredible acoustics make attending a concert here a truly heavenly experience.

Even if you have never heard of Anne of Green Gables™, this region can satisfy your wish for a variety-filled vacation itinerary that could include beach, golf, theatre, music, nature walks and sea kayaking–all within an easy 20 minutes of each other.

My family and I are a Dutch family living on P.E.I. We are renting out cottages since 2015 and have earned super host 14 times in a row. With our experience of hosting we can assure you and your family a great stay on our beautiful island, we are always going the extra mile :) We will provide everything just like you would like it at home; clean, well equipped, fresh made comfy beds and well... if you are still wondering- Just read the reviews! Our cottages are inspected and are up to date to all government standards and safety features. It is our goal to simplify airbnb as much as we can and leave guests to enjoy their vacation. I am answering all questions you might have and maybe not even thought of in the house manual and there is an informative binder in the cottage to all the closest stores, attractions and other gems. We are always available when needed and you will see us regularly to clean cottages or perform other tasks. Feel free to come chat if you feel like it, other than that we will just leave you be as long everything seems okay! When you book and it's confirmed, then is your stay reserved. You receive all booking information from airbnb. The check-in information will be available 24 hours before your check-in. All our cottages are entered by lockbox so you will be able to check-in whenever you feel like it. Please respect the check-in times and don't arrive before that. Our cancellation policy is moderate, this means full refund 5 days prior arrival. I have airbnb 24/7 on me so I am always quick to respond to your messages! Don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions or concerns! We thank you for your interest!
